Bought this beautiful thing from Champagne James on SC. Omega 'Museum' watch, the MD10, in solid gold. Manual wind and no date window, which I prefer. Quite unusual.

Gone a bit Seiko crazy this week...

Got one more modest incoming soon. A SKX007J which I will be looking to get customised and modded for a different look once I have it.

Already posted this pic on the Seiko thread but I thought I’d share the same here

I thought I should try a Vostok. Eventually arrived after the first one was lost in the Russian postal system. Disposed of that horrible bracelet and put it on a Cousins tropic, much better.
Incidentally, I know it’s not the Zissou watch, but it’s close.

This sporty number has just arrived. It's a biggun, but not sure if it's too big. Opinions?

Gotta love the scuba dude. So robust - it makes a great beater watch. The bezels are not great - but you can always change them (as I did).

I quite like the style of the bezel, but it’s a bit too shiny for me so I think I’ll whip it off and try brushing it. The fact it is friction rather than a click doesn’t bother me (on a £50 watch), no alignment issue this way!

Good idea. As you probably know, you can even rub off the chrome plating down to the bare brass for a different look. The friction fit works well, even with a new mod bezel and everything lines up, as you rightly say.

Thanks for the heads up, I didn’t realise it was plated. I will be very careful with the rubbing block.

2004 Girard-Perregaux Traveler II (4935) self-winding automatic watch, 40mm stainless steel case, black dial on a black crocodile strap calf leather backing with stainless steel GP tang buckle. Functions include date, alarm, GMT, hours, minutes and seconds. Also This comes with box, papers and service history.

I have put this on the alarm thread also.

Very pleased with it and love the way the lugs curve around the wrist and the tapered strap. Real quality.

Purchased from a chap, Peter Ax, that I don’t think comes on the forum much but a lovely chap no doubt about it.

Appreciated. I took a chance on if I would like it but I really love it. Real heritage also.

Panerai PAM00368 for me today. A limited edition. So many features to love (IMO). Titanium, 47mm historic dimensions, gold hands, tobacco dial, no date, domed crystal, sandwich dial, easy strap change mechanism, 8 day manual wind with power reserve indicator, and the quirkyness of a destro crown.

Fred, loving that GP Traveller. Not the easiest watch to be able to find but suspect it was worth it. And like ASW I'm a sucker for 2 x crowns.

Nev no it wasn’t but 100% worth it. I absolutely love it. Not sure what the love for G.P. is on the forum but this is a quality piece and digging into the history, movement etc a piece of high horology. It looks great also and with the curved lugs it is so comfortable.

I have checked everywhere and you can’t find this model.

I am not normally a numbers man but the dial just works with the 9.12,3 date at 6 and 24h below 12. You can get full numbers and a rose gold version but not this. Those are not my bag.

    Thanks for the kind remarks.
    Fred

Longines Hydroconquest (quartz) - All my watches are autos & I decided I needed a quartz for the grab & go practicality. Managed to find this little beauty on the bay, only 7 months old & at a 35% discount to brand new!!! A proper bargain.....

I really like that; was almost tempted away from the TAG the other day for one of these.

I really like the two tone Hydroconquest and I have come very close to buying one many times now. Congrats and enjoy it in good health!

  46. #3996
I was actually after the black faced two tone Hydroconquest, this was on the bay 'buy it now' for a very reasonable price & only just 7 months old. I pulled the trigger & when it arrived it was the blue!!!! I thought about returning it but held on for a few days, before deciding to keep the blue as it looked fantastic & was effectively in 'as new' condition. I think I made the right decision.
