This is the exact model i am looking for next. Did you purchase from an AD and if so did you have to wait for it?

To be honest I would have been happy at full RRP.

Thank you for the write up, very interesting watches. Congratulations on getting the pair.

The most striking thing about it is obviously the orange hand that is used to track a second timezone on the same 12hr scale as the main hands. The orange hand is independantly ajustable in 1hr increments. It also features a quick set date and the automatic movement can be handwound. And just to stir someting up, I believe Rolex didn't have the independant gmt/2nd timezone hand with a quick set date until around 1983...
The 5619 movement comes from the same base movement as that used in, amongst others, the 56KS and 56GS models. The only downside of the movement is that it suffers from the same issue as other members of the 56xx movement familiy: the part used for setting the orange hand and the date (and in other 56XX models for setting the day and date) is made of plastic and tends to break easily. The shape of the case is also reminiscent of some KS and GS models.
There's not a lot of information available on these. From what I can tell there we're two series, the 5619-7000, produced only in may and november 1972, and the 5619-701X, produced in november 1972 and possibly a little later. The 5619-7000 came with white and beautiful deep blue dials (those are the only variants in a 1973 brochure), and I think I've seen a silver dial on Ebay too. The 5619-701X series came in blue and whie dials as well and has a chapter ring with minute track on the outside of the dial, but dropped the name 'Duotime' from the dial, which is one of the things I like best about the earlier models. As can be seen by the symbol below the word 'Duotime' these models came out of the Suwa factory.

This arrived yesterday. Really enjoying it. So much so that I think I'm going to sell most of my modest collection and get it down to about 3 with this being one of them.

That looks great. I notice they have the blue version for 15% off. I don’t know if it is stackable with the 10% for new subscribers. If so, I could well be tempted.

    Any more wrist shots?

Edit : the code is stackable with the discount, so the blue dial one comes in at £305.10

    Code is GECKOTA10

I really like that, something genuinely different, but not gratuitously-so.

The very first watch I bought when I got a little bit of cash together was a Geckota chronograph.
I'm still blown-away by the quality of it when I see it - which is fairly often since my wife nicked it as soon as I put it down and has claimed it as her own: she has no interest in the much more expensive watches I have!
Very well-designed and great quality for a very fair price

That's a good price although where are you seeing the 15% off blue version? I can't see it.
I know on their eBay shop they have one like mine for £299 that's an ex display.

It's a great little thing. Think it's 40mm case by about 47mm lug to lug which is just right for my 6.75 wrists. PT5000 movement sapphire crystal with AR coating. Although I really like the bracelet it feels light and not in as high quality as the case.

The box it comes in is very impressive and I also got a free pen !!! :)

The reason I bought is like you say it looks different to many watches you see. Ok the case is is a bit nautilus but a lot more refined. The bezel has some kind of resin coating on it so time will tell on that one but I love the coin edge to it. All in all very pleased.

Yes, I saw the pepsi model on eBay. It says they have been sent to , and returned from journalists, but are pristine.

Oh yes. I was looking on the watchgecko site. Great price and I reckon the blue would look really nice. I personally liked the black with the gold accents.

Hello all! It must be ten years since I last posted on here! I thought I’d cured myself of the illness but it seems to have returned - in a rather expensive fashion! New SD 126600…..with my Hulk and 16600 that have kept me going for ten years!

New arrival for me today, something of a departure as I’ve not had anything like this before. I really like it, and think that it’ll make a great summer-watch.

As was the general consensus from the forum, I sold my Aquatimer to help fund this beauty. No regrets.

Very nice, I like the lume. Brushed centre links are an improvement over the version I have. It’s the only thing that drives me mad on mine. Enjoy.

Subtle changes but I think they add up to make it a really nice update.

Well, I do love a Helson Shark Diver and this is the sixth one I've owned. I've come to prefer 45mm models but this is a 42mm model in brass. Never had the brass version before with the Seiko NH35 movement but it's pleasing to the eye. I love the combination of the plain green dial with the brass case and bezel. It joins my 45mm Bronze Limited Edition and a 45mm Steel with the factory ETA upgrade that's no longer available for the steel model.

Very nice! Out of curiosity, did you weigh up the 300T vs the 300 and if so, what tipped you towards the 300T. I can’t decide which one to pick!

I like the flat crystal and slightly larger dial size on this one.

Plus it’s £500 cheaper and I can go 4 x deeper with it which is very important

This turned up this afternoon. I'm just getting used to the size after wearing a Linde Werderlin all week. I was worried that the BB58 Blue may be a little bland but it isn't. I absolutely love the blue colour. I'm liking it more and more with every minute it's on wrist so it could well be a keeper!

Just landed this, my first new watch in quite a while, Seiko SPB213.

Very nice, the dial changes from white to a light silver depending on the light. Likewise the bezel is a kind of oily dark blue when the light hits it, but most of the time has the appearance of being black. As ever with Seiko the dimensions and lume are spot on.

It came on the Seiko bracelet but I removed that before wearing as I’m unsure whether this’ll be a keeper for me. I love the SPB line but am undecided on which colour scheme, got a chance to buy this one at a great price so thought I’d take a look.

The strap is a tenner on eBay, but they are good ones for the money, I’ve had a few over the years, link here:

Best pictures I’ve be seen of this watch so far. Initially struck me as a bit of a holiday/summer watch due to the colours but looks great here - if the blue was always this subtle, I could definitely see myself wearing it. Very nice
