I have had the pleasure of safeguarding several watches over the last few years from various TZers and then when the time is right have taken pleasure in returning the watch to its original owner for them to enjoy once again. Well today thanks to Rob I have managed for the first time to re-acquire a watch that I knew was an instant mistake when I sold it two years ago to him following his WTB. Well at least it went to a good temporary TZ home and was well taken care of but now thanks to Rob it is back. I've set, cleaned and sized it and it's finally back on my wrist. Rob was extremely helpful and trusting in reuniting us and in fairness Watchfinder did us both a great favour to so fair play to them as well.
The watch that has caused all the fuss (from me) is this. H and V to follow. Thanks again Rob, you're a TZ gent!

This watch has exceeded my expectations and in the metal is just sublime on all accounts.

I’ve owned far too many Sinn’s and to me this is simply the best yet.

Nice surprise in the post today, I had forgotten about this one.

Had my doubts about this after ordering but now it's arrived and on my wrist I'm very pleased. Love the way the amber dial catches the light!

£9k brand new with stickers. I’ve never paid over retail for anything in my lifetime so it wasn’t the most comfortable experience but prices were rising consistently, there isn’t a single sone on Chrono24 for under £10k in the UK now. I absolutely adore it and will keep it indefinitely :)

Got this a week ago. I've put off getting it for two years and ended up paying 100 euros more than I could have had it for a year ago. Cest la vie I guess.
Was seriously considering an SARX, but having a few sarbs, I couldn't bring myself to pay 1100 euros(after tax) for the 6r15. It's now a 1k movement it seems, but when I had it at much lower prices, I just couldn't do it. Before it's brought up, I know there's more to a watch than the movement.

Initially, I was underwhelmed. Felt a bit light but I generally wear bigger heavier watches with steel backs so it was bound to be lighter.
The bracelet is not great, not garbage but not amazing either. I thought it would be identical to the alpinist bracelet, but it's a much cheaper imitation. On thr bracelet, I was starting to regret buying and actually considering flipping it quickly!
Once I put the SARB on leather with a seiko deployant I instantly started enjoying it. It's a strap watch through and through.
Been on the wrist for about a week now and I'm really enjoying it. It's very elegant and has presence.
Running at - 4.8 over this period, but I assume it will need time to settle.

So, is this the baby grand seiko everyone says? No, but it's definitely worth more than asking.

It's definitely worth the 400 euros I paid for it, even if it's more than I could have had it for previously. Is it on par with the SARX? I havnt handled one but based on looks and the finish I see in photos, I'd say the SARX is the better watch, just not 600 euros better.
The size works much better too, I'd have always been wishing the SARX was smaller.

Thought I'd give Tudor a try and the eta powered 7922R appealed to me with its retro styling. Pleased to have got one on the bracelet and supplied Nato. Will likely buy a load of leather straps to try before putting it back on the bracelet.

I know the watch has its critics but in the context of what it cost, in my view it is a bargain.

My new 36mm DJ on my 8” wrist. Think it looks classic. Fits perfectly straight out of the box.

    Thanks 😎

i particularly wanted that dial dial which looks really old fashioned I think. Now I’ve been wearing it for a couple of hours it looks just right.

    Just in:
The Citizen Promaster BJ7070-57E. Same movement as a Nighthawk, but slightly more conventional looking.
    Lume is very weak though!

Picked up this AP 15300ST last week courtesy of a member here on TZ. Have not worn anything else since acquiring it ! The combination of polished and brushed surfaces really plays with the available light.

Overall, I could not possibly be more delighted with this watch.

After wanting a Tank Française; trying it, and finding it a bit small, I went for this Santos Ronde:

First watch of 2019. Was passing through Heathrow T4 and noticed this sitting at the back looking all lonely. Will do for a beater. Needed something quartz to just pick up and put on when i go outside at work (no metal bracelets on site).

Looks like SBGJ217, it's a great photo and the strap suits it well.

It's more likely an homage to the earlier 1960's Zenith Cairelli.

If honest I wasn’t completely sold on rose gold to start with (however the better half kept telling me it was gorgeous) luckily now I absolutely love it!

And both the Bund and the CP2 owe 95% of their design to the earlier CP1 chronographs by Breitling and Leonidas.

Little 9721b on a Hadley Roma strap. Like new from a seller in Japan with original unused strap. 36mm/ and loving the smaller sizes. This is about 20 years old I think.

    Hi Toddy

Thanks for the kind words. What is not so apparent on the wrist shot is the detail on the dial, it looks like this:

and in more detail, this (best seen close to the central band of the image which is more-or-less in focus):

A proper work of art ?

Ta ! Have to say I tried on the VC Overseas 4500 in both silver and blue dials before getting this watch and was underwhelmed with the VCs, but remain hugely impressed by this AP. If only I could now afford a Jumbo......

I’ve had this a couple of weeks now and I’m very impressed, I guess the size isn’t for everyone at 45.5mm but I’m finding it very hard to find any negatives.
