What's the reference on that one? I've never seen it before, but it looks like a power reserve version of one of their SARG models?

This is the sarw line. Main difference is the upgraded movement as these comes with 6R2x with power reserve functions and 28800bph (6R15 is at 21600bph).
Model here is the sarw019 (antracite chocolade dial). More common is the black dial sarw015 (also with bracelet) or cream dial sarw017. IMO, perfectly sized (40.5mm) and versatile watches

I hadn't seen one of those before but that's so much nicer to see than yet another Rolex sub. It looks a really cool, modern watch but with a 70s vibe and size. Very nice and making me rethink an intention to sell my 38mm pvd carrera.

Great purchase. This is the first watch in a *long* time that I’ve seen here that made me go and look up more information. Looks fantastic. £580 at Creation but sold out. I look forwards to some good photos and a review!

Just arrived after a heads-up in SC for the discount on the Yema website. It's a quartz movement, but a proper countdown yacht timer. It can be synced to the next minute and provides a beep every 10 secs for the last minute, and each of the last 10secs. Perfect - and I'll be trying it out when allowed back on the water.

Phooooaw!!!!!! Didn't even know that even existed in their back catalogue. Congratulations! I'd say let me know when you're ready to move it on, but I doubt I can afford it. Gorgeous.

This is a good looking watch. Is it parkerised / passivised or PVD coated?

It is titanium that is polished to give the appearance of steel. Very difficult to achieve apparently.
It is a big watch (48mm) but lug to lug only 53mm which is about the same as my 42mm AP ROO. Quite slim and flat so wears rather well. Certainly not going to miss it though when looking at the time!!

    New arrival.

The subtle changes make a marked difference to the aesthetic. A millimetre here and fraction there have changed the balance for the better in my opinion.

It actually measured 40.5mm wide on my cheapo digital callipers and I’ve found it certainly doesn’t wear any bigger than the previous 40mm reference.

Thanks for the comments. It was inspired by Zenith's barn find PVD prototype they uncovered recently, but using the case shape of the vintage A384.

Funnily enough I bought this as a direct replacement for my Speedmaster as my tastes have moved towards slightly smaller watches.

The watch is titanium and as far as I understand the finish is achieved solely by micro blasting. I did fear when seeing the initial marketing photos that they'd made it look darker than it was, but it really is that colour.

I agree, it looks whole lot nicer and doesn't seem to wear too big.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

That Zenith is rather nice, based on other favourable comments potential for a bulk buy!

I bought my mrs the 42mm a few years back. Replaced it with a 36mm oyster perpetual. Still think this out shines it by some distance. Try it in the orange croc leather strap. Amazing combination.

It is a lovely watch but that bit about finidng a prototype is baloney put out by the Zenith PR department.

As I commented on another article elsewhere -

The original black PVD chronograph you refer to as the inspiration for this was definitely sold to the public, in relatively large amounts. Lots surfaced about a dozen years ago, but they never sold particulalry well, or for high prices on the collector market as they had a very oddly slim set of silver hands fitted as standard, and they used an anachronistically old manual wind movement (the 146HP), and not the El Primero.
It also seems that, even though its tonneau case might suit one, this original model was never offered on a bracelet.
The watch was clearly aimed at being Zeniths answer to the Porsche Design chronograph, which was released in 1972.
There is currently another one of those PVD chronos for sale on Ebay (I have no connection to the seller), and many different examples can be seen using any image search for a "Zenith PVD 146HP"

The Ebay one has now gone, but do the image search, there are loads of them, not a mysterious prototype at all.

It still doesn't stop the new one being lovely, but they really didin't need to lie about it.

That's rather interesting Dave. I should have qualified my comment by saying 'alleged' barn find as it did sound a bit too good to be true, but nevertheless a bit odd they'd make a claim that could be easily disproven, and unneeded too as you say; as whether the 70's watch was ever in production or not doesn't add a whole lot to the story.

    Couldn't resist this £600 bargain from T K Maxx!

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this, as the image on T K Maxx's website showed the face as a flat Ivory colour and all the stated sizes were all wrong, so I reckoned it might be a "return" job. However, it arrived today and I love it! It has a metallic champagne coloured dial which looks great IMO and I love the quality feel of the watch, even the Nato is very well made. Nice movement too. It is quite chunky, but sits very comfortably on the wrist. The date location and colour is a bit "meh", but that really won't bother me. It's a keeper

Must have been quite the wait. That's a watch you have to wear on the last day of the month and watch it change over at midnight.
