To be fair it's the price of a decent G-Shock or Citizen.

I was even keen enough to edit the post and put the links into Chrome but no such luck. I was curious as you do seem to have a fair amount of good watches in the thread recently.

Thank you, I said this year would be interesting as I seek to buy the watches that I like. Its an X33 solar impulse, took me a little while to find one new at an AD.

Bought this a few weeks ago, I know its not everyones cup of tea but just so comfortable on the wrist, in the right light the dial is stunning, my awful pic doesnt do it justice, 40mm perfect size for me.

+ you can potentially save the cost of the tool by not devaluing watches with nasty scratches and gouges.

Great watch, especially on the rubber/a dark strap.

super comfy fits like a glove and no hair pulling. Perfect size for me. For a sport watch with complications the 13mm height is acceptable especially combined with the downward sloping short lugs. Extra point knocked off for non-tool adjusted clasp. But it’s not too difficult to adjust with a paper-clip etc.

    Finish 9/10 -
subdials are quite something and finish top marks

    Movement 9/10 -
lovely movement and 60 power reserve with the El Primero improved movement Cal: 3600 - what’s not to like.

    Precision 10/10 -
for a mechanical Zenith is only one of few do the 1/10th (and 1/100th sec) chronographs

    Accuracy unknown -
within COSC on my timograph - not had it enough time to measure on the wrist - not sure if there is a “burn in” period for a brand new movement these days.

    Value 7/10 -
it’s is a super watch but in reality I see this being added to other Zenith in a couple years in the sales. I could be wrong of course - this maybe the game changer for the brand - but if you look beyond the ceramic bezel it is mostly like another Chronomaster Zenith but with a tweaked 3400B movement.

    Overall 9/10 it’s a “buy” from me.
Good Balanced review. Thanks for Sharing.

Two out this week and two in. Firstly, a Hamilton Khaki Field mechanical. Always wanted to try one of these. This one is running at plus 1 second a day. Thanks to PawG (Pawel).

Damasko DC-66 courtesy of Rousey (Scott). My first Damasko. Popped it off the black leather strap. I’ve only one 22mm Nato available so this’ll have to do for a while.

PRS-47 Commando got here yesterday and Im very much enjoying it.

More fringe, though, is the Seiko SBBN025 Darth Tuna I have incoming next week. Im either going to love it utterly or decide I hate it. Cant work out which.

    its a big old beast...

wears well though, very light (titanium) and the smart features work surprisingly well.

It's all down to the size of the tips I think. They're very fine at 0.95mm and ideal for Rolex bracelets, in fact I believe it's the tool used by Rolex ADs.

I found it easy to use on my Rolex bracelet, but difficult to grip with on another brand (ironically a Tudor).

Not brave enough to try on my Rolex, but agree that as the tips are very fine I just couldn’t keep hold of the compressed spring bars long enough to either fit or remove a strap. Plenty of f ing and jeffing when the spring bars shot across the kitchen....wife not impressed

Ooops, forgot to include this little beauty, Bulova A-15 Pilot.
Two inner rotating scales, minutes & hours, great idea that's
not seen much, if at-all today. 42mm makes it really nice on the wrist,
although 44mm would still have been o.k. Suits the Staib mesh well IMHO.

OP Turquoise dial dropped off tonight by my AD.

Apparently it's the first one through the door at this AD since launch. I am surprised as I always saw this as an entry level piece for Rolex.

    Few pics.

This ones not for me though!

    OP36 for my daughters graduation.

She didn't waste any time getting it on the wrist.

The AR coating on these does a great job, these shots on an iPhone under spotlights.

I just bought this insane Seiko. I think general the forum would dislike it, but I am totally in love.

It's a special edition Presage, made to commemorate the Studio Ghibli film 'Porco Rosso' (pig, flys a seaplane, gets baddies...yes, only in Japan!). I love this because it fits my geeky/pop culture nature, but also the general aviation / racing theme. Anyway, I'll use one pic from elsewhere then mine. Sort of mini review. And at the end I'll say why it also feels quite personal...

So why do I love this so much.

    1. It just looks beautiful, especially the dial, I like the sort of vintage almost imperfection of the enamel. And the case is really nicely finished, beautiful thin hands and bone coloured hour and minute.
    2. Easy to forget how good the 8r48 chrono movement is.
    3. The whole package is really luxurious, never seen a Seiko box and stuff like it!
    3. It's fun!
    4. My surname starts with an 'R' so the crown feels almost personalised. Add to that...
    5. It is a limited edition of 600. I do not think many came to the UK. Mine is number 8! And the cool thing is, my birth month is August.

So I am chuffed to bits!!

Haha. The cool thing is the point/joke is that he is an anti-facist pig, as it is set in pre-war Italy. Why this great pilot is turned into a pig is not ever explained in the film, everyone else is human, but the idea is that people should judge the real people and their actions not their looks, and he is an anti-facist and is pushing against the tide. So in one famous scene where his ex squadron (and rival) is explaining why the fascists are the side to be on, he just deadpans "better be a pig, than a facist". The director in an interview said...

"I myself have a number of things I believe are right. And some things make me angry. Actually, I'm a person who gets angry a lot more easily than most people, but I always try to start from teh [sic] assumption that human beings are foolish. But I believe there are things in this world that are beautiful, that are important, that are worth striving for. I made the hero a pig because that was what best suited these feelings of mine.
