Great choice. The No Date is the pick of the bunch of 2020 Rolex releases IMO.

Agreed. I too have this watch. In my opinion it will be a collectors piece for the future.

Thanks guys and yep, one trick pony here!

It's the smallest Rolex I have along with the 114060. To me it looks like a regular no date but with the SD43 lugs which is a good thing. I'll have a look next to my 114060 tomorrow but I can't notice the extra 1mm, just the lugs. If anything it feels a bit flatter on the wrist -- could be the extra 1mm or I could be making it up. Either way it's a fantastic watch.

The SD43 is usually my daily and the D-Blue is for weekends. I have thighs for wrists and don't think I could go smaller than this. That said I would love an LV. Love a dive watch.

The extra 1mm on the case is a bit misleading, it went from 40.3mm to 40.5mm, so 0.2mm caused the rounding difference up to 41mm.

Seems the only tangible size changes are in the bracelet lug width and the size of the lugs themselves, which seems to be almost universally preferred. I've not seen one in person yet, but I hope to get one some day!

Congrats Wiley. Looks great on your wrist. And that chunkier bracelet looks to suit you well.

When you have your 11 series alongside you may compare the bracelet taper, so much more pronounced on the old model. I used to think that was a good thing, but the 12 certainly has addressed balance issues.

Biggest plus I have noticed was AR coating on the 12. Makes the dial so much more vivid. Look forward to your thoughts.

Could it be a better crystal? Not an actual AR coating?

I’ve just compared the two cases side by side recently and I couldn’t tell the difference tbh looked almost identical

Just in, I haven't set the date...

Last incoming of the year and frankly I’m done for now. A controversial diver, but damn it’s one heck of a watch!

I’ll maybe do a thread on it later.

I keep looking at Mings. How you finding them for the cost. He sure makes quality looking watches. I nearly ordered one last month.

I’m a big fan. Now have 4, don’t plan to add anymore as covered most bases.

You get a superbly built product with very deliberate and considered choices to the watch design. Worth the value at all price points - you get what you pay for. So more you pay, more ‘watch’ you get. Obviously you have to buy into the design. Heres the diver on strap and 1901 on bracelet - the combos which I think suit both best -

That’s slightly smoky dial is very interesting.

The bracelet elevates the entire watch. It has been craving this for the last few years!

I’d add the diver probably plays best with light from all the mings. Will definitely do a thread when I can. Just busy at the moment.

I picked up this satin black engineer style bracelet for my black tuna which I think matches it very nicely and gives me a non beach alternative to the black silicone strap.

I'll not quote the pic again, but congrats. Would be interested to hear your thoughts comparing the two case sizes.

Also your experience re: AD availability; wait lists etc. PM if you'd prefer.

Congratulations on both the new wife and watch! Do cherish both but the wife always comes first

As a contrast, I got my Pelagos a couple of months before I got married as a last gift for myself

Did you have to take the wife from the AD in order to secure the Pelagos?

I have it in good authority that if you buy a mother-in-law you get the opportunity to buy a Daytona!

    :-)

    Congratulations on both!

I took this for the Friday thread but it should probably go in here too.

I was never a fan of the old blocky Sub, but this is just right. I'm not a fan of the shade of green used on the green bezel version, so decided on the classic all black date version.

I do like that, looks good, I was tempted to go for one on ebay recently as I fancied a little bit of orange (I bought a Seiko SKX0011J instead from the Creation heads up)
I previously had a OM Aegis and the quality was spot on for the money, enjoy

Sad sod that I am, I ordered my xmas pressie to me-me-ME on Friday -

Just scraping-in before a 15% price rise. Odd timing, putting your prices up while all your competitors are having sales...

Took me forever to make my mind up regarding which version as there are so many customisable choices, in the end I went with all-bead-blasted "6-Steel" hardened case, bezel and crown, SW200 movement, blued hands and BGW9 white lume on a sunray blue dial.

Going to be some time in the new year I suspect.

Nice choice. I've had my eye on Dekla ever since....well..... ever since you turned me on to them!

I love my Mark18 and I recon this will wear similar. Please show us some wrist shots when it eventually arrives :-)

Third Turtle for me, after the PADI and the first Save the Ocean variants. Both those were loved but got moved along without much regret. This one is a step up from those, with a much nicer bezel, improved bezel action and a lovely insert with the numbers engraved and a tiny concentric ring pattern. All going well, this one might hang around!

The only issue is, it might be fake, everything lines up properly.

Just taken delivery of the Alkin Model Two this morning having pre-ordered some time ago. Ticks a lot of holiday watch boxes quite nicely, not that I have any idea when the next will be!

I went for the black one (no photos yet, I got it when I returned from the workshop this evening)
It is defeinitely a step up from the model 1 (which I also have). I really like it.
