The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

    Got this in yesterday
Modded a FOIS and added a snoopy strap on it with a bit of adjustment as the FOIS lugs are 19mm

I did wonder if you modded your FIOS when I saw that in the Friday thread. Very nice and the hands make a big difference.

    Thanks Wiley
Pleased with how it turned out.
I’ve now got a mitsukoshi dial and hands that I bought from Kippax to move on as I went with 35th anniversary dial

A re-incoming, my Daytona has just arrived back after a repair and servicing from the RSC. It's like new again.

Thanks Martin, I'm very pleased with the result. The only downside is the crown is no longer vertical when wound in.

Looks like they did a good job Adrian, new bezel or just a polish?

What was the fault, did you find out?

Shame the crown no longer lines up although that wouldn't be important to me

For what I was charged, I don't think it's a new bezel. I think it's had a light polish. From talking to a few watchmakers, they think the reverser wheel in the auto wind mechanism may have come loose. I think I know what caused the problem. I was putting some rubbish in our pedal bin and my foot slipped off the pedal and the lid came down on the watch. I quickly checked over the watch but couldn't see any marks or damage but soon after, the watch stopped working. It would run after a hand wind but when I put it on a winder, it stopped. It sounds like the watchmakers were right because I only got a bill for a service.

As if the crown not being vertical wouldn't be important to you.

A real milestone today. In my mind, the ultimate vintage Rolex. Purchased through the forum, and one to bring out on special occasions.

Thank you, Geneve for the super easy deal.

Will be sure to grab proper photos this weekend!

Purchased this off my good friend Andrew, most will probably thinks look hideous on me with my small wrist. I was sceptical myself however it’s not actually bad. And it has a purpose.

That’s stunning! Selling mine was my worst watch move ever. Only sale I actually regret.

    Thanks.

I almost sold this a couple of years ago but my wife talked me out of it, she's obviously a better judge of watches than I am. Even though she calls this "Your Rolex, that doesn't look like a Rolex."

First watch I’ve purchased in Sales Corner and I’m really pleased with it. I’m in the process of moving to the North of Scotland to start a new job so that finally gave me an excuse to buy a North Flag.

I've got this little somewhat diistant incoming(don't know when I'll be allowed to visit my dad to collect it and don't want him going to the PO unnecessarily so tolf him to just hang onto it). It isn't working and he seems to remember the movement is rusty so could be facing a lengthy repair once I do get it.

He's been insisting he still had this watch for donkeys years but I was convinced it must have gone AWOL during our old house clearance when my parents got divorced mid 90's. Dad lost the plot a bit at the time so myself my sister and mum had to clear the entire house in 3 days(after work!) and had to be ruthless. So much stuff was lost but it was unavoidable.

Anyway since then he insisted he'd seen it once but couldn't remember where, 25 years of hearing that I wasn't convinced. That was until last week when he called me to tell me he found it in a box of bits in to he corner of his loft, he DID still have it and he said I'm welcome to it as too small for him now. I plan to get it brought back to life and have it refurbished, most of the scratches are from storage so I don't care about keeping it in its current state and would prefer to have it looking lovely again.

Very classic(is small at 34mm which I'm happy wearing) and I love a nice grey dial. Pretty excited even though I know it will probably be Summer if not later by the time I get to actually wear it. Good things and all that.

Only photo he's sent me, he's very good at photographing birds(yeah yeah, I mean the winged ones) but less so a watch it would seem.

Very happy with the quality, nice 38mm case size and seiko movement.

Not a new watch, but a new case to hold my straps. Well not all of them but going to order another one.
Far from fantastic quality but cheap and does the job.

Birth year CWC G10 Fat boy

Been looking for this for ages, 1980 = first year of issue = my birth year. Unfortunately not working, so will need to source an ESA 536.121 which won't be easy, but at least it was cheap :)

Just arrived today via the Hugh Rice sale. I was weighing this up against a breguet Type XX which I could have got BNIB for a smidge more but I believe I've made the right decision. An almost identical replica of the original which inspired the Type 20s, no fake lume (the original lume was this colour), nice movement. Very pleased
