The incoming / new arrival thread is always a dangerous place but I had no idea it would have me buying Daelmans Stroopwafels.

Incoming: 18 of these before tea time (hopefully lunchtime) tomorrow.

I was in two minds about this but having tried it on a few straps and the Sinn bracelet I’m very pleased with the different looks, and it’s easier to read than would first appear. Even matches the tactical tablecloth

I believe it has some very minor modifications, but I'm not sure what exactly.

My 41 runs at about +3.5 seconds per day pretty consistently. Pretty good for a non Chronometer certified movement.

    Two New arrivals..........Not fondled yet!

Well due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation. I'm currently stuck in the Middle East and have been since the end of January The only saving grace is that I can justify a couple of purchases to my SO due to my isolation ;-)

My long suffering wife has been so kind to open both purchases on facetime so at least I can have a little bit of unboxing joy.

First up a NOS Oris XXL Classic Chrono that I got from a dealer in Italy. Thought it might scratch my Chrono itch but still hankering after a Speedie! Unsure whether I will keep this one, even after a couple of strap purchases and deployment clasp bought.

Then a Gruppo Gamma Bronze Vanguard that I think has maybe scratched the bronze itch.

Still unsure when I will get home but at least I can still keep looking.

    Have a great weekend.

    Cheers,

    J

    Got this yesterday.
My first really serious watch. I have Christopher Wards and Tissot autos.
My Dad died of Covid-19 and this is to a large part funded from him.
I appreciate that Speedmasters are probably two a penny on this forum but I absolutely love this.
    1985 vintage on a 1479 bracelet.

I'm very sorry to hear about your father. At least you have a beautiful watch to remember him by.

Thank you, it was part of my thinking to get something of quality that I would use and be a lasting memory. This won't be going anywhere

I too am very sorry to hear of your sad loss Kevin. That is a beautiful watch and a lovely memory of your father.

It’s probably said too often but it feels especially appropriate to say I hope you wear it in good health sir.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I did a similar thing with an inheritance from my grandfather many years ago. Cherish it forever.

It’s a Pagani Sub case with NH35 movement. The dial and hands and insert have been replaced. The cyclops has been removed.

The bracelet centre links have been brushed too.

    Thanks for asking.

I have recently take the Everest Expedition dial out of the box. Nice watch, very versatile on many straps and bracelet and fits well on my 6.2" wrist.
Though it runs hectic. On the winder shows - 1 s/d while on wrist or dial up position does +15 s/d. Is that normal for a new Miyota 9039?
I have never experienced such a big difference in different positions.

I can’t stop buying Orients. I’ve bought four in the last month. I think it’s the combination of really interesting dials, fantastic movements but mostly obviously it’s that you can get that “excited by the new watch” feeling regularly and without feeling that you’re buying it because you really wanted something else. All without spending to excess.

Today’s new arrival is a series 4 bambino. The 42mm version with the blue dial. It came on a not too bad dark indigo strap but I think it looks much more at home on this honey Hirsch Lucca. I love it. The dial is absolutely beautiful. Perhaps the hands are a touch too thin. Maybe just a little ... but maybe not! It’s elegant and simple but the blue gives it a real personality.

I kid you not, I’ve got another Mako arriving this afternoon. Please send help.

I tried on an all black one today in a dept store, but it looked tiny. So: bright colour, white dial.

By far my most expensive purchase. At the limit of my 6.75 wrist size though I feel. It is the 41mm version

Citizen Royal Marines in titanium, limited to 1000 pieces. Very happy with it, and it looks great on a nato imo!

Wears big considering the smaller size.
