I know there are a lot of threads about holiday watches, but we're off on Monday for a cheap week in Gran Canaria, so a quick look on Amazon yesterday caused this cheap beater to arrive this morning. 75 quid, can't be bad and won't be too bothered if it goes missing in the x-ray machine at the airport.

G shocks are nice holiday watches, casual and rugged. Just the beater you need.
It's a GW 7900 ER - solar atomic and ask the rest. Good for the price I thought.

My tactic does seem to work out for the best though....I rarely get on the return flight without something new and shiny on my wrist. It's my reward for abstaining before I go!
As long as it works - that's the main thing! I'm hoping that going with a cheapy kight encourage the purchase of a nicer one for dinners out!

G shock, a trusty bash it up anywhere watch...great for swimming, cycling, gardening and anything else you can think of. Some expensive (in comparison) but lovely models coming out in the G range now...
I do think they produce some interesting watches. Would be nice to see the same solar atomic movements in less overtly rugged cases.
