SAGN003 – the member sold this at the very end of last year.
You'll be hard pushed to find another, even in Japan – but good luck trying and searching....you just never know when one may turn up.
There's a SAGN001 listed, if you fancied that version.

Thanks! Will have a look, also just seen there's a SAGL003 on WUS. Will have to do some research into the brightz models.

    hi, nice thread guys.

I'm kind of new to the world of watch collecting and i didn't wan't to just go with the crowd ( points at Rolex and runs away),that's kind of boring,so after many hours perusing watches, one range in particular caught my eye.... Casio Oceanus !

Any way, my first two Oceanus have arrived today,so i thought i would contribute to this thread if i may.Sorry about the awful phone pictures guys :(

Ok so first up we have the OCW-S3000BL which is a strange watch indeed,as it doesn't appear on the Casio website...HMMMZ?

    it's supposedly limited to 500 pieces,although i can't confirm this !

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

And next we have the OCW-S3001T. This watch was released in a Limited Edition of 500 units .
    More info here...http://translate.google.com/translat....ru/ocw-s3001t

It comes in this fantastic case, really heavy plastic i think?

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]

i bought these from the net de udetokei wasshoimura shop on global rakuten.

my next target is this one, out next month, again limited to 500 pieces ...

    ^^^ Welcome!

Those are fantastic Casios there. I've always liked Casio watches: The first two watches I bought for myself were Casio calculator watches (CA-901 and CFX-400) and it pleases me to see Casio doing this relatively high-end stuff now. It also pleases me to see quartz gaining ground at this level.

I suspect one of the modern Oceanuses (Oceani?) is in my future.

I think the Oceanus is the most under rated line there is - I have an S100 and am looking further up the line as we speak.

Most definitely one of the best bang-for-buck ratio out there. Too bad they don't make mechanicals as well, although I am certain I will probably pick one up as well, cannot have a proper JDM collection with just the 1 G-Shock, need a "proper" Casio as well .

Problems sourcing JDM watches in the UK

Not sure if this a new thing, or whether I'd just missed it before, but I've noticed that Chino Watch, a longstanding favourite JDM source, now has a notice on their site which stating that they won't ship Seiko to the UK/EU. Seiya has also posted a similar restriction for Grand Seiko.

Could anyone suggest alternative sources for these, I've heard people have had some success with Rakuten sellers, but I don't really know where to start with that site.

Any thoughts would be appreciated, I'm hankering after a GS Quartz self dater...

Looking at this thread you would think that most SEIKOs are JDM, but in fact, they are not.

The following SEIKO product lines can be bought in Europe and even here in Sweden:
    SEIKO SARB
    SEIKO Prospex (like SBDX001, SBDC001, SBDC027)
    SEIKO SKX
    SEIKO SARX
    SEIKO SBBN
Grand SEIKOs (most by default, but some by request)
    SEIKO Ananta

We even get a few limited edition models, like the SBBN023 (Golgo 13 tuna), SBGV009/011 (GS LE selfdater), SBGJ003/005 and more. JDM isn't what it used to be.

i bought my Oceanus watches from Rakuten. was pretty standard stuff really. You will of course, have to pay import taxes for your country ( 20% in the UK).
Another service i have just set up, is the forwarding service tenso.com. i ordered a watch from Amazon Japan and tenso are shipping it to me as we speak. postage and the tenso fee came to about £18, so not to bad. you can order from most Japanese stores using them because you ship your parcel to them in Tokyo, then they post to you.

Would either of these count then. Both JDM but available from Japan to EU.

Love the 023. Arguably very close to a GS quartz dressed up as a 007...

Aye, perhaps a tad too far, but you won't see a new quartz watch from Seiko with anything like an 8F in it without the GS brand these days.

The 023 was part of the Prospex line, so while it may look like a sleeker 007, everything about it is of higher quality, look at the details of the dial and bracelet for example, let alone the movement. Sure, still not the same as a GS though.

True! I Had a GS SBGX117 (not JDM) and loved it. Best Quartz divers watch in the world imho.

I had good dealings with the Seiko 3 S store on Rakuten, they don't speak English though.

Very cool indeed. Love the second-hand on the first one. Very Grand-Seiko-like!

My latest acquisitions these last few months are the WZ0021JC and the WZ0071DJ , these are not particularly JDM-ish, especially the new GMT , although funny enough they are hard to come by anywhere except Japanese sellers.

My "crown achivement" though, a model I've been looking for since 2011 is the WZ0021FB,, the so called World Heritage I was giddy as a school-girl when it just popped up out of nowhere on sales corner . As you probably guessed by now, especially if you saw my previous post ;) , my "niche" is Orient Star and World Time in particular lately :)

The black dial looks lovely as expected, very inky-black! I have the white/cream dial, same model, which BTW is not JDM , I was actually considering to "swap" it for the true JDM model, the WZ0061DE which has a slightly better dial, with the darker hands for better visibility and the shorter date (MO, TU... instead of MON, TUE...) but then again I really love the design of the bracelet, I use it as a sort of casual beater and the "hidden" (lowered) polished bits of the bracelet means it still looks almost pristine after 1 year of ownership instead of having lotsa scratches as some of my other ones I wear on bracelet. For its size its certainly thick, like a small hockey-puck , but I actually like that about it, gives it a nice look on the wrist.

What's next.....God knows what I'll learn about although this was supposed to be for me the year of the majorly cuts/reductions, "keep it under 12" and all that, so far I am losing out the battle acquiring at a faster pace than selling in the JDM department...which is soon to be my only department by the looks of things

here's question - buyee sent me an email saying they no longer charge service fees on amazon.jp - so how do they make money? Affiliate links? Inflated postage?
