After much reflection I am going to declare Toqvists Protocols and play Latimer Road.

Wood Green en passant towards Cockfosters, but only on Fridays when the line is blocked so a detour via East Ham.

I'm fairly sure, given the President of the United States is in London at this precise moment, that the Air Force Seven ammendment is in play.

Only one option for me then, that's a trip, via Regents Park, of course, to Ickenham.

Engineering works on the Piccadilly mean a quick stop at Ruislip it is, then.

Given todays date the Voorhees Amendment is live to play, therefore double Hammersmith.

I believe that under the yet-to-be-superseded, Rule 3, (Paragraphs 5-12) of the Chamonix-Bloemfontain Pact, I can safely play Lancaster Gate as my next move, and indeed I duly do so.

According to the Lancaster Gate exception, I call for a five minute sports break, followed by a return to Paddington.

I refer honourable players to the 1999 Red Ken versus The People ruling, regarding inverse changes in the capital on days when blimps are airborne. Therefore I play Westminster Bridge.

And I invoke Rule 401.1, so mind your track changes.

Are you joking? It's the first Saturday of the decade, so 401.1 is completely off limits.

I missed the last AGM so I've no idea about 401.1.

Playing safe, let's stay on the Circle line.

    Latimer Road.

Sorry that is ridiculous, just because you missed the last AGM doesn't mean you can ignore the rules, having just eaten salt and chilli dry ribs with complimentary prawn crackers I play Latimer Road round to Baker Street, Bakerloo line down to Piccadilly Circus

Now we all know that under the General Convention of 1999, which was subsequently formalised and adopted by Mornington Crescent Chapters worldwide under the Unification Assembly of 2001, it was decreed that on the first Sunday of every decade, we go back to where it all started.

    Paddington.

I’m very sorry but 401.1 was not accepted without dispute in the -99 General Convention. I believe you’ll find the official objection of the representative of Vanuatu in the final transcript, appendix 32, subject five. Therefore Unification Assembly can not have made a valid adoption of the decadent decades rule. I must demand that all movement will cease immediately, we’ll go back to Wood Lane and an intermediary board will be assembled to discuss the matter under the Lassiter, Lassiter & Rawlins clause before any further Bakerloo line on a sunday nonsense. Gentlemen, this is just not cricket.

Edit. I’ll nominate First Grand Engineer to act as chair

It would appear that a number of players are labouring under the bizarre illusion that we have entered a new decade, whereas patently that event is almost a year away.

Fortunately the founding fathers predicted that such an outbreak of mass dis-information might occur, and this was obviously the rationale behind the production of codicil D, sub-paragraphs E and F (specifically part 2.3.7j).

Bizarrely, this means that Latimer Road is indeed the correct next move.

Under the extraordinary powers granted under the I Never Thought I Would See Anything Like This Outside of a Film or Book rules (1994, Section 1, A) we go back to where this all started - Paddington.

In that case, may I be the first to claim the Wuhan (Prematurely Open) Detour Rule. There is an enhanced buy in for this Rule, namely 200 rolls of toilet paper.

With a restricted service on much of the Northern Line and the anticipated imminent closure of Liverpool Street, Stockwell seems like the most sensible option.

    I've avoided the tube recently.

    Oh, and the train.

Perhaps we can use the Monopoly board as a proxy while Covid is death with?

If you all agree, then I shall invoke the old Operation Sealion protectorate and move to Old Kent Road.

Better still we could use the Underground edition of Monopoly:

Using the rule of Transposition your Old Kent Rd. would equate to Elephant and Castle. Velorum's move to Fairlop would earn him a Penalty for improper use as Fairlop isn't in the board.

I'll take Chance and see what I get.......

    A penalty for improper use?

Last to suffer that punishment were Cribbins and Pertwee I believe.

If you can make it work - subject to the ECHR ruling of course - we could try it.

    Let's take a chance...

Since Fairlop is out of bounds, let's get re-established with some solid safety play. With due consideration, I therefore play Bond Street as my next move.

I was close to requesting the third umpire when things went a little off-piste there, but season of goodwill and all that.
