    Speedmaster by Omega... tick.

German car... nope. I do appreciate Mercedes, though working out on the road full time makes me appreciate that a high proportion of people who drive BMW's and Audi's are some of the most selfish people ever to breathe in oxygen. So I am not fussed with the German car thing. Though I'd have an original Beetle or a Camper by VW at the drop of a hat.. so I would get in by proxy on that one! I have simply seen enough German car drivers out there driving without so much as a thought for other road users.

Barbour / Belstaff / any of that line. Nope. I see chavs wearing some of it locally. That'll do for me.

Fountain pen? Nope. Even though I have a love of ink and pens, never really bought into fountain pens. Though I do think that they write nicely with nice handwriting... and to be honest, my writing is quite calligraphic, so I would actually like the idea of owning one.

Perhaps a few pairs of lightly walked Grensons will crop on SC to facilitate this??

    Sadly

1 too many Omegas inc Flightmaster as daily wearer
2 Merc CLA and my old Saab coupe I can't ever sell
3 3 Barbours inc Commander and 2 Belstaff
4 nah only Acme rollerballs and they're not mega dear so,reckon I skipped that one (just)

I don't think it's too predictable just folk who like watches tend to like similar decent stuff..... That's my excuse anyway

3 out of 4, don't own any Belstaff/Barbour. Do have a Drizabone, though.

Hmm, a pair of shoes/boots that cost more than £100?

The Merc is shortly going to be replaced with another Lexus, though (really shouldn't have sold the last one)

1/4. German car? Not yet in 30 years of driving and from my experience as a passenger I'd say they were over-rated.

Used to have a German car but it fell apart at the first sheep I hit...

Got a Barbour but have to admit it usually smells like a sheep died in it..

A couple of Conway Stewarts in a sheepskin case.

A few Omegas... not sheep sheep related...

So three sheep related items, this was about sheep wasn't it ?

    - Have an iphone/ipad/imac/ipod
    - Have a decent pair of brogues or boots
    - Are audio/Av geeks

    - nope, seem to be disturbingly replete with Casio, Seiko, Suunto "outdoorsy" watches at the moment. Some sort of mid life crisis about being too office bound I expect
    - nope, Mazda and Fiat at the moment (and have frankly never really cared)
    - nope, like more technical stuff. They're a bit too "fashion" for me
    - yes (phew), although almost exclusively Pelikan

It is obvious that underneath our many differences we share a few common traits, that go beyond our interests in horological matters.

So much so that I am sure that quite a few would possibly admit possessing more than one item on this list:

    - A middle end watch, Rolex or Omega
    - A German motor
    - A Barbour Commander, or at least another Barbour or Belstaff
    - A fountain pen or at least a high end biro

Anyone care to add to the list (second hand flip flops and underwear excepted )?
    Omega SMP
Land Rover Disco (Probably built in Germany)
    Barbour

    4. Yep

3 out of 4 isn't usually deemed to be a bad score........... but this may prove to be the exception

I do also have a couple of Omega's, a couple of fountain pens (which I never use), and a few higher end biros.............. so I'm struggling to suss out if I'm a Pikey TZ'er, or a working class TZ'er with aspirations above my station

    I'n very nearly there

    - 2 Rolex and previous an Omega
    - Currently contemplating a BMW purchase but own a Toyota
    - Do own a Barbour and have been very close to buying the Commander following recent discounts
    - Not a fountain pen but do have a nice Mont Blanc biro for signing stuff at work.

But.........could be heading away from the standard WIS Uniform

    - Thinking of chopping in two mid range watches for one higher end e.g Blancpain or AP
    - Probably will end up with either Honda or Skoda when new car arrives
    - The Barbour is very old and rarely worn and drawn to new Hugo Boss field coat
    - Never use the pen as current role very rarely requires any signing

Two out of four for me, SJ.

Omegas - tick. Some middle order diving stuff which I've droned on about many times because they've stopped me flipping.

Fountain pens - tick. I have a few although my Father has it much worse than me. He has hundreds of the blighters.

No German car - not really fussed about the modern stuff although I would like a 968 CS or 993 C2. Fat chance at the moment.

No fashion coat - I'm far too set in my ways.

  42. #92
    Rolex
    Mercedes e class coupe
    Barbour international 2 of them
    Mont Blanc pen

So guilty on all accounts, I would have have added brogues to the mix judging on how popular the other shoes thread was. I would have failed on that count. Don't own a pair .....yet.

    1/4 - '69 Speedy Pro.
Drive a Citroen DS4 & a Vespa, although there's an SLK in my near future.
    No coat.
I'm a leftie so can't do fountain pens and as a geek I get comp'd biros at an alarming rate.
Maybe we should start a thread of things we doubt we have in common with other TZers?

    I'll start -
I have 10mm stretched holes in both earlobes - and match my ear tunnels/plugs to my watch face/strap colour to accessorise!

Wouldn't be seen dead in a Belstaff or Barbour

    No German motor

    Lots of fountain pens.

How can you have a middle end? The middle's the bit between 2 ends.

2/4 for me. Various Omegas and a BMW 540 Touring.

  50. #100
I'd say thankfully I'm atypical of the photo-fit TZ profile.
My clothes are all American and generally vintage.
I have a nominal interest in watches these days, and the two I have are both American.
I no longer own a car, but if I did it would be a Muscle car and not German.
I do own several fountain pens both Japanese and German, but not the typical brands.
