I had planned on trying to see it the day I read your post, but it put doubt in my mind, so I read some more reviews and I ended up not bothering.

Now you missed a great film in the Imitation Game.

I thought it was pretty good. A true story with great subwoofer sound.

    Dumb and Dumber To
I get it it's a comedy, it's on the dumb side of things, but does it really need to be that dumb that I can feel my IQ dropping? Worst movie I have seen in a long time.

    The Green Hornet.

Sometimes these old '30's super hero films can be done pretty well but this was just a fat comedian with a never ending series of explosions and machine gun firing.
    Cheers,

I made the terrible mistake of watching Lucy the other day.
Easily one of the worst films I've seen. Not just this year, but ever!

Jarhead 2. Had nothing on the original film, as if they couldn´t be bothered.
    Boring storyline and predictable throughout.

'Time to Destination'. Saw it on a flight back from New York recently and it was just a crap animation of a small airplane that lasted six hours. Avoid.

Part 3 of The Hobbit wasn't anywhere near as good as 1 and 2. Disappointing.

The only film I've ever walk out of the cinema was the "The Ladykillers" remake with Tom Hanks.
It still grinds my gears thinking about it!

I'm still trying to go see it before it disappears from the cinema.

I am still trying to work out how the Exodus film can be so painfully bad.

Ridley Scott, Christian Bale as the lead. Ben Kingsley.

    Yet it was eye-wateringly dire.

The Equalizer, what a terrible remake, if you can even call it a remake. The only reference to the Original 80's TV Show was the name, Robert McCall. 1/10

I enjoyed both of those, taking them for what they were.

The Equalizer was not supposed to be a remake and TBH I didn't really see the point of the connection to the TV series at all. As you say there was not one.

I've not seen that movie, but judging by the appalling Prometheus, Ridley Scott is well capable of taking a great cast and premise, and making a woeful film out of it. I'll be watching blade runner 2 from between my fingers1

Finally got around to watching The Inbetweeners 2 movie. I had been disappointed with the first movie as I felt it was nowhere near as 'punchy' as the excellent series. How disappointed I was to find that it was not even as good as the first movie.

Usually I can watch a bad film such as two headed shark, robocroc etc just for the giggle but this was just a step too far

Watched that the other day, purely for the randomness of the name and subject matter. A dire low budget horror film. But sometimes it works! Not high quality, barely registering on the scale of 1 to 10 as Cirrus mentioned. But if you are that type, or in that sort of mood it was a way to pass the time. (Certainly beat wandering around Chisinau on my own while I was there last week...)

Watched that last Monday (an unexpected preview ticket became available), but not seen 1 & 2. Thought it was pretty good (it's just one long fight scene really, but a pretty good one), so I look forward to watching the first two movies.

Paranormal activity, the marked ones. It's almost like the director has thought "Now that first film was pretty good, how can I now systematically destroy my reputation as a half decent film director?"

Sin City 2: Utter shite, Eva Green has got great norks but even they wern't enough to save this turd fest.

Bangkock Dangerous, the only thing dangerous about this was Nicholas Cage's wig, I couldn't watch it all the way through to the end even though I was on a flight with a piss poor selection of movies.

    Gallowalkers: Avoid at all costs

Skyfall, What can I say that hasn't already been said.

    Cheers for that.

Had it recorded but can now safely delete.

Liam Neeson airborne mystery, obviously the writer was smoking a crack pipe. Semi-okay for an hour but the way it ends up, oh FFS!

I treated myself to the blu-ray Aliens boxed set for Christmas. Alien was every bit as good as I remember and has already been mentioned in the good movie thread. Aliens was easily as good as the first one. Aliens 3 was not so bad, although disappointing to discover that a good number of the truly most egregious prisoners in the future will be English.

But Alien Resurrection, OMG WTF! What an utter load of arse. And the papier maché monster was straight out of a fifties Japanese black and white horror flick; what was the SFX budget - fifteen quid?

    White House Down.

If it had been made in the 80's and had Bruce Willis in it, it would have been a smash hit.

As it is, however, it's pants.

I was thinking Die Hard all through it, it wasn't so bad once you've accepted that but the last few minutes of fist pumping 'go America!' Went too far IMO.

Worst film of 2014 for me was Gravity, without a doubt the most predictable and flat storyline. Watching paint dry, in space.

Dreadful movie with an equally dreadful score from Hans Zimmer and his supergroup.

In terms of current films I've got to say Exodus. Severely over engineered. Too Hollywood every set looked just that - a fake set.

Having said that the special effects were very impressive!

I only managed to watch under an hour of Skyfall before I got bored and turned it off. Over-hyped dross and becoming just one long, drawn out product placement event.
