Lord of War and 8mm are in the 'good film' list, Bangkok Dangerous and Drive Away are in the 'so bad they're good entertainment' category.

Family Man is one of my Nicholas Cage favourites. Strong story. His character is genuinely confused and resentful of the life that could have been, but slowly warms to it, and then doesn't want it to end when he sees the true value in life. Brilliant.

    Downsizing (Matt Damon).
I half recall seeing it when it came out, but we just watched it again and it's the very essence of a great idea run out of steam. Good premise and decent set-up, halfway through it turns to avsoiute garbage.

Nosferatu. Absolute drivel. Possibly the most boring two hours of my life.

Had friends round for a Burns Night supper earlier, and they fancied watching ‘Smile’ (2022).

    Supposed to be a ‘psychological thriller/horror crossover’ - it’s not, it’s sh*t.

    F****** sh*t.

Just saw Shawshank Redemption for the first time (yes I know). Maybe I had overly high expectations but I thought it was 'meh' and very contrived.

Also watched Gladiator 2 on Amazon last night. Another 'meh'. Absolutely not a patch on the first one.

The Beekeeper - OMG what a load of utter crap. I usually like Jason Statham stuff but this was dire.

    Gladiator 2

Hi, I watch lots of films on sky, Netflix, prime, apple TV, Disney.
I can honestly say in my opinion gladiator 2 was surprisingly very bad!
    Lots of things stand out,
It looked like a poor TV series,
And the boat scene was, well, pathetic, how did they line the arena, how did they get the sharks there, so many questions for my small brain.

We fancied a light watch this evening, some silly "turn your brain off" comedy. Quick browse and we came up with Anchorman. It hasn't aged well. I used to love Will Ferrell but his ad-libs in that film are hopelessly unfunny. Maybe we were easier to please in the 2000s. We'd earmarked Dodgeball and The Wedding Crashers as potentials for another night but I'm scared to revisit them now!

The film isn’t great, but not because of the boat scene. They did used to flood the colosseum and enact naval battles. Sharks are probably a step too far though.

Agreed. I saw the trailer several times and it did pique my interest, so when it aired, I watched it. Not good, and certainly not a (psychological) thriller. And there's a Smile 2! I think I'll pass.

Tried to watch the newest Venom - The Last Dance. 10 minutes later I was shutting it off. Annoying

The new Nosferatu, just a remake of the Klaus Kinski 1979 version & a bad one at that.
4 out of 20 from me.

Alien Romulus: enjoyed it till the end where it went to shit, felt robbed when it finished, apparently they’re working on a sequel.

    Better Man

A strangely presented mix of Robbie Williams self loathing and self promotion with poor and unnecessary CGI scenes which resulted in a crap alternative version of Rocket Man.

Not complete and utter garbage, but it was pretty poor. Certainly one for the 'I would never watch again' list.

Thanks. The Robbie Williams element in itself is a no no for me.

They probably added the Sharks to jump...

Lamborghini - Think it's just landed on Prime (certainly first time I've seen it advertised). As a petrol-head I saw it at 10pm listed last night and thought I'd stay up late and watch it. 90 minutes I'll never get back. Absolutely pants.
