    Pam233 - Regret Rectified

Biggest regret since selling my 233 on this forum 2 years ago and I'm now over the moon. Was able to source a first issue 233 specifically with the 24hr dot dial last year, but the seller was only able to conclude the deal yesterday when I was able to get my hands on this baby.

My favourite Panerai by a long shot. The dial is gorgeous and the domed crystal blows me away every time I look at it. It oozes pure class which is exactly what it is.

I won't be making the same mistake twice!

The solar dial 233 is certainly a milestone in Panerai's modern history. A really nice piece but you should've kept that NoS one

Gorgeous, Jason. I found it a tad too big for my smallish wrist but the class is undeniable.

If someone asked my to define Panerai, I'd show them this watch.

Hence my regret. Didn't appreciate that first 233 until it was gone. Luckily this one is mint.

I don't generally like Panerai, too dull for my liking - but this is the one model that could sway me. Pity you'd need a > 6.75 incher to pull it off.

    Don't let it go again!

When you flip it, do keep me in mind

Tried that on in Harrods about 8 years ago. Think RRP was about £5900 at the time but just couldn't quite justify it at the time, even though wife was there urging me on. Often regret that decision. As Burnsey said this model for me contains the essence of Panerai. Looked many times at a 312 as a more affordable alternative but the case shape just doesn't seem quite rights when youve had a 233 on your wrist

Enjoy your watch and post more pics

Thorpey is selling his for £5900, and I am sure he would accept a close offer!

I am days away from joining the PAM fraternity although the lesser favoured 312 by the sounds.

    I can't wait

    Spot on Dan.

About 3 years ago I simply couldn't afford to buy a 233 so thought a 312 might fit the bill. Then in Selfridges I had both the 233 and 312 on the wrist for a while and they are just so different in reality. Lovely as the 312 is you need to find the extra dough for a 233 if you want the quintessential Panerai (IMHO)

    My DD233 says hello

I did the exact same thing. Bought one years ago and sold it, and regretted it ever since, and recently found this one, They're most certainly the best Panerai IMO.

Had a 270 for around 2 years very much like the 233 loved it and deeply regret letting it go!

Loved owning one. The best Panerai, but i never got on with the 1950s case - the regular luminor and rads are so much more comfortable on my wrists....

I had one - it might even have been from the OP - and I also regret moving it on.

Most Pams leave me decidedly luke warm, the 233 is much more special.
So clever my foot fell off.

Such a beautiful watch. And supremely comfortable.
I'm also in the same situation trying to get back a dot dial. Most of these are overdue for service now - any idea whether the dials are being replaced while back at Panerai ?

That would be interesting to know. Currently running at +7s per day but tbh it has been sitting in a safe most of its life so needs running in. Hopefully as it is now not under warranty they can't "upgrade" the dial without permission as this would be charged as extra.

Looks great Jason, good pickup. I like my 212 for the 1950 case also.

Very, very nice. If I decide to ever go to one watch then a 233 will be the watch of choice.
