    Horology, A Child of Astronomy

Fantastic book, which I picked up at SalonQP this year (they had a wonderful exhibition of astronomy-related watches, from vintage to modern). Anyway, I was reading it this evening, and one thing led to another.

I'm going to guess that you really mean astronomy rather than astrology. My old astronomy professor would have had a fit with his leg up if he'd seen anyone making this sort of, er, "spelling" mistake when I was studying under him.

As always nice picture none the less.

I love that watch. High up on my want list!

It's nice to know where the moon is, as it helps to decide if it's a good night to get the telescope out.

The book sounds rather intesting. Do you have a link to it?

There's a link to the book here (although it's through Amazon's US site). The exhibition was the highlight of this year's QP for me, and by quite some margin.

I got that book too, Tony. I must get round to opening it sometime. At the moment it's just sat on top of my safe!

Thanks Tony. And worry not - I have a colleague with a DPhil in Astronomy and it always winds him up when the uninformed (usually ladies) of the office ask him about their star signs!

Harry, i it's nice of Tony to dedicate a thread to some of our, shall we say, more free thinking, members!
