What's the point of that chris if the list is meaningless? I think this fun list idea is just going to lead to heartache for someone.

I'm wondering if it will fit the 14.

It'll be straight off my SB3 to be replaced with a strap, and will languish unused otherwise.

The Speedbird III would be just the watch I'm looking for!
48 dial and hands, strong anti-magnetic protection, same size as the IWC Mk XI.

May I kindly ask for number 42, if available?

    Thanks and kind regards

Surely you jest Sir, this will dwarf the mk xi by nearly 8mm. c'mon Eddie the SB3 really needs to be 33mm dia max

I should have said "appr. the same size as the Mk XV" of course

According to information received this morning, the SB3 could be here by the end of this week. As there's no list, that could be interesting.

Wasn't the Italian non-LE very similar, if I recall corretly? A first run that was sold out quickly, after that a supply big enough to meet demand. That wasn't a big disaster.

Just as a matter of interest Eddie, how many will you get in the first delivery and are you expecting problems getting further chronometer grade movements?

Just wondering whether to roll my sleeves up and jump in the ring with the rest of em or sit back and wait a few months :D I've waited 5 years for the SB3, a few more months wont kill.

Hmm this is getting interesting, this could be my first TF watch, only downside is I would have to let go of either my 2254 or Seiko Marinemaster

Ah well perhaps I will miss it and have to wait for the second batch, thus getting time to scrape together some more money.

Good news Eddie! How many do you anticipate in the first batch, and what are your hopes for further batches down the road? My next watch purchase will be next spring for my 40th, and I'm hoping the SB3 is still an option at that point. Stands to reason it'll be a hot seller.

    Thanks

I would suggest that the people who have a complete (picture proof) set of speedbirds ( PRS-1 ; PRS-7 ; PRS-12 ; PRS-15 and the Goldbird) have first chance to keep their collection complete (as very loyal speedbird owners) then it's for the people who only have 4 out of the series and so on....

wouldn't you think that is a nice gesture to your loyal customers Eddie?

I think the first batch is limited to the 50 chrono grade movements which Eddie was able to source. It's not planned as a limited edition so (in theory) should be available for some time into the future, but obviously is dependent on being able to source the movements.

It's highly probably that only the first 50 will have the "Top" version of the ETA2824 and all the others will have 2824 or 2836, as available.

It's unlikely there will be any difference. I bought the 50 "Top" movements last year at a good price and ridiculous as it sounds, I may have to pay more for the ETA standard movements today.

Eddie...do you anticipate the SB3 having the same continuous availability as some of the other Precista models, or do you see movement accessibility being an issue that will limit the batches. In essence, I'm just hoping to see the SB3 around for a while. I've got to say I love the photos being posted of the PRS-5....great looking watch. I'm still hung up on the Chinese movement, but I suppose that's a barrier that should fall given that I've got Japanese and Russian movements in my collection. Beautiful symmetry of the PRS-5, and I love that crystal. Congrats on the fine job.

The plan is to keep the SB3 in production: the problem, as you rightly state, is availability of movements.

    PRS-1 - Speedbird
    PRS-7 - Speedbird II
    PRS-? - Speedbird III

I'm beggining to worry about the agony this watch is causing me. I've had a new Speedbird strap waiting for it for months and am ashamed to admit that I've considered cunning plots and even plain begging to get close to the front of the queue. However, if nothing else, 4 decades of suffering with the Blades has taught me to grit my teeth and bear it.

If it is going to be a Le Mans start I'd like to wish everyone else the luck I want for myself.

After getting a PRS-5 yesterday, I would quite like to buy one of these (not bothered about which movement) is there a list any where? these watches are addictive aren't they? I think my bank balance will start to suffer.

No list, they are not intended to be a LE so should be available for a while. Eddie makes a great watch, I can see myself adding a PRS-5 to my collection at some point.
