I'll take me chances. Finances and the missus can be fickle when it comes to watches, so I feel it most wise to gamble a bit on avaialbility.

I have to admit I was never the SBs biggest fan, until I thought I'd take a look at the SB3 threads (and especially having seen the pics of the case and bracelet). This one looks great!

No. 050 if its going, :P

He may or he may not... in any case I'd like to thank you a lot for starting and maintaining the list. This is excellent!

Just incase, put me down for number 30, I have been looking for a watch with a bracelet for a while now and through my powers of deduction and the use of this post and the prototype post have decided I WANT THIS ONE, should look nice next to my incoming SB II

In understand that the SB3 is not technically an LE, but are they going to be numbered at all?

If so, I will take #14 and try to talk John out of #2 to match my '20 and '50

    Hi Colin,

#14 placed. Eddie just mentioned somewhere he had ordered or paid (?) for 50 movements..

That is the reason for the list... and it is unofficial..

    Stay save, cheerio, Frank

I've paid for 50 movements which I assume are surplus from another project because it's not a standard movement. The first 50 will have this movement which has the chronometer parts and adjusted in 4 positions.

Greetings to Frank and all TZ-UK members. My name is David and I am a long time lurker on this forum (3 years). I am originally from a small farming community in Austin, Manitoba, Canada. The more I learn about time (and the lack of it!), the more interested I become. Thank you to all for the insightful (and very often humorous!) posts that continually educate and entertain me.

Please put me down for #33 of the SB3. I understand that this list is unofficial and that the watch is a regular production model. However, I would appreciate owning one of these timepieces with the upgraded movement.

Thank you again and a safe and healthy year to all.

    Cheers,
    David Oliver

    Welcome David,

put you down for number 33 - a proper choicce to start your PRS-collection :thumbleft:

Glamdring, the people on the "Any-number-will-do" section are subtracted from the remaining numbers,
so at the moment there are 4 more numbers left to choose from the open ones, the the "ANWDs" fill up the list.

    Clever, isn't it? :D

As I've already said I want one a couple of times in this thread, put my name on this unofficial list, just in case! I'll take 16, or any other number failing that.

I think I've reached some kind of point of no return as a WIS, I've put my name down on a 'list' that has no official existence or endorsement from Eddie, for a watch I haven't seen yet, at a price I don't know and with a delivery date that is undefined. And I'm happy about it.

    Hello Gentlemen,

the updated list is here - please check and complain to me :D

So we have 50 prospective buyers - but I will keep the list open adding everybody else on the "follow-up-list".

This list unofficial and not connected to Eddie ( I suspect he will perhaps just open his shop and sell to whom is paying? :D ).
It was basically opened up because Eddie had paid for an order of the 50 first movements - this is just a
normal Non-LE-LE if you know what I mean.
Everybody who wants one should get one. Anyhow, here the list for now:

    hello hologon,

put your name on the follow-up-list: I now seem to understand why Eddie is not so keen on putting lists together -

put please be aware that this list is completely un-official and there will be

    A) always people who drop out

    B) this is not a LE!

and C) Get into real WIS-ness and check out the forum everyday - so you do not miss anything :thumbleft:

There are things that I do not understand: double caseback seals or smaller crowns are acceptable for an homage but a dial with improved readability in the dark is not - even if keeping the geometry of the original.
Why not improve all the small things that do not prevent the adept from enjoying the original design?

Ah the purists: those Taliban WISs...

Taliban ... ? Let's just call these WIS'es "Crusaders", eh? No need to go into foreign cultures ... hey we liberated Lisbon in 1147.

The dial and hands are the "face" of the watch, and contribute 80% to a homage IMHO. The caseback seals are invisible, and the crown size would be in the normal variation of replacements. Not to mention that the original design has a beaty of its own that cannot be altered without unbalancing the whole.
    Cheers,

    Martin ("Crusader")

  46. #246
I agree with the above sentiments Martin. I may sign up for an SBIII mostly on the look of the dial and hands, even though I've plenty of similar watches.

So this is probably a genuine 'Thanks Crusader'

    I bet i'm too late!!!!

    walkuere,

Haha, yes... I do check it every day but somehow I can't figure out how to sign up for notifications for updates to threads.

So I was reading all the non-stickied threads on the PRS-50 and missed the ones on the SBIII over the past couple of days.

    ;)
