That's a seriously good loking watch Eddie 8) You must be very happy to have this one in the bag. Looks like I'll be lurking on the TF site this weekend!

    Eddie,

In the caseback pic, the watch has an unsigned crown; in the bracelet pic, it has a Precista signed crown. Could you tell me will the crown be signed, please?

    Many thanks,

    Guy :)

I seem to be spending a ridiculous amount of time just on this thread...

    Eddie,

That is a quite beautiful watch, absolutely perfect in balance and proportion. I will definately be ordering one and hope that it is one of the first batch - not because of the superior movement, but because I can't wait to get my hands on one!! I'm happy with the bracelet as I love the IWC one that it resembles, you can always add a strap if you so desire.

Congratulations for a job well done.

    Cheers
    David

The crown is not signed, the prototype came with a Precista signed crown because he thought all my watches were Precista.

    Looking very good indeed.

SO as not to search all 34 pages, are only the first 50 having the "top" movement?

Sorry about this . Sometimes you turn them round and see all sorts of things.

I like the lift and angle of the bezel. And all the other angles flow nicely.

Any thoughts on the SB4? Will it be a chronograph? :blackeye:

Sorry couldn't resist . Looks good! Eh? Love the size and shape of the seconds hand. There's an archaic feel to it.

    In one word, perfect.
The whole package looks harmonious and very pleasing to the eye.
But if everybody puts his money where his mouth is, I don't think I'll be able to grab one :) .

But..will we be able to order through the website if it becomes available this weekend?

TimeFactors shopping cart page says it's going to be down:

    Closure - 24 June 2008

Time Factors is closed whilst the backlog of orders is cleared and will re-open on Monday 30th June 2008.

If I were an intel analyst, I would say Eddie is clearing the decks for action come Monday, when he expects an increase in orders, or he expects to receive a high volume of orders on Friday.

I think Eddie should introduce a really sly link hidden deep somewhere on the Timefactors website to purchase the watch a couple of days before it goes on the main page. Kind of like a treasure hunt. :D

As we get to the finish line for SB3 still not knowing if we will be in the first 50 winners or not I'd like to thank rickf for starting and maintaining the spec post at the top of the thread. Its been fantastically helpful and a great 'shop-window' to peer into longingly from time to time.

Thanks Rick its great that you've done that for all of us.

Just had a phonecall from my credit card company, after some discussions it seems my card has been hijacked. They are going to stop it and send me a new one with a new number but it probably won't arrive until Saturday.

Can anyone remember if Eddie still takes orders with an option to pay by cheque? If he doesn't i'm buggered :crybaby:

Ironically it’s the 22nd anniversary of my wedding in Sheffield this weekend. We are going to be abroad on my hideously expensive mobile internet connection and now with a wallet bursting with cash.

My panic is over though, I’ve found that he still takes cheques.

Great watch Eddie - the bracelet really sets it off nicely.

    One minor issue though....

    [pedant mode ON]

One question arising from the caseback text (and which could be asked of almost all watchmaking firms including Rolex & Omega): Have metric and imperial length units changed recently, because 100m = about 328ft, not 333ft? Not that it makes much difference in practice. It wouldn't be the first time this sort of thing has been done: 'RN standard sea water' was defined as 1.0275SG for many decades when in fact it should have been 1.0265SG. Luckily the error didn't cause any sinkings!

    [pedant mode OFF]

This won't stop me going for one though!

Usually you see the rounding as 3.3 feet per meter.

    100 meters/330 feet
    200 meters/660 feet
    300 meters/1000 feet

These look better on a dial than:

    100 meters/328.08 feet
    200 meters/656.16 feet
    300 meters/984.25 feet
