I really like the look of onion crowns on these pilot watches.
Will it be possible to replace the standard SB3 crown with an onion crown ?
If so, are they all standard sizes and therefore can be sourced from anywhere or will it have to be offered by Eddie to make it a viable option.

I just made what I think is the last update to this Speedbird III spec thread which just informs people to refer to the Timefactors site for the definitive specification. While it's been fun to track the development here, Eddie's information on the sales site is truly the last word on this.

It is as good as the ETA 2482-2 ever is. At the moment unadjusted versions seem to be running well under +/1 20s a day. Mine, the non-LE version, is under 10s a day. Adjusted and you can get it down to one or two seconds a day.
I have adjusted mine to around 1 or 2 seconds fast / day.

On the first one I had my watchmaker (very trusted an recomended) do some adjusting - but it didnt get much better - sounds strange but I am sorry I dont really remeber the facts. On the second one I didnt even try, I was just mad about the +20s as I thought the first one was just an exception.

So my next try will be a LE which came with COSC-movements.

I have adjusted mine to pretty much +/- 5 MYSELF! And I'm no watchmaker, used the trial/error method!

It follows in the style of the IWC XV with an uprated spec case, excellent bracelet though not IWC's version of the ETA 2824-2.

Was looking at buying this for weeks, until tried a DA36 and realised the size might be too small to wear as a daily beater. (they should be VERY similar in size? 40mm vs 39mm)
