New arrival this week, the SARB059. As people know the Black looking dial is actually a lovely deep Emerald Green in strong sunlight. First image is my watch, second image is borrowed, but captures the Green shade of the dial.

Hells bells. That's fantastic! Love the green. It's strange that I haven't seen this model before.

Thank you. Like most of the Alpinist and SARB watches this one has been discontinued for a number of years and is not easy to find these days. I was lucky to find a full set from 2010 that even comes with the Japanese AD card filled in.

This arrived yesterday, my first Tuna. Wears a dream, really comfortable and distinct styling. Love it. Even on an overcast day up north the lume is something else.

Another Seiko incoming, the Alpinist Red SCVF009 from 1997. Made for two years only and exclusively for the Japanese market.

Not to be confused with its later off-spring the SARB017, which has now been discontinued.

Very happy with yesterdays arrival. I only wish i had the photographic skills to show the dials various shades of green with the change of light.

Was admiring a "cocktail" Pressage today but was surprised at how big it was. Can anyone tell me how they wear?

Great looking piece, that green is a killer, sunburst dial I presume?

    Latest arrival for me

You ought to see the dial pop when the sun hits it!

Great to see Skip has one too.

Very nice Andrew and Skip, a lovely colour dial. These Seikos can become addictive.

I also liked the Blue dial on that LE that was on SC. Must resist!!!

I'll stick to Alpinists for now.

The 'Alpinist' text/font just really lifts these models.

Think it's a signifier that it's a particularly accurate quartz

Look forward to seeing the trio photo.
Are you able to mention a ballpark figure at what these watches go for?

Plus or minus 5 seconds per year. Pretty crazy. 'Basic' GS quartz are plus or minus 10 per year I think

Whoah, that is truly fantastic. To be fair, the +/- 10 isn’t too bad either!

I kept looking at that beauty on SC but managed to resist. I think I've read somewhere that the five points of the star represent the 5 second a year accuracy. It's a lovely watch and the bracelet looks lovely. Can't work out if the dial is silver or white?

    Cheers
    Neil

I would go with Silver and I'm not 100% looking at it!! The light plays all sorts of tricks.

Thanks Neil. I kept looking too!
The star definitely makes sense now. It was actually the bracelet that put me off.

You presume correctly :) Quite amazing the range of greens it goes with the flick of the wrist, from light, through to emerald and on to dark. Shame my iPhone camera can't seem to pick it up.

I find they do wear quite large, being all dial. Kind of on the too-large size for my preference, but all the same, I wear mine regularly.

The higher models with power reserve make the dial less obviously huge due to the added 'stuff', but then again they are also much thicker, unnaturally so, and that's why I have one of the basic ones (the Sakura-whatever model).

Many thanks for the feedback. I think I'll try one on and see. I do suspect though that it will be just that bit too big.

Not had this that long but I sure am attached to it (SARB035). Strange because my preference has always been very strongly Seiko's divers.
