Here's most of my Seikos (middle left is my wife's). All from the affordable end of the spectrum, all but the bottom 3 bought used...:

    Thanks.

Hands and dial could do with a resume but for 1969 the case, bezel and insert are amazing.

I sold it once and just recently got the chance to buy it back

Just settled on my beater, an all original 7548 from December 1981.

I have probably tried every watch in the universe in order to try to settle on a beater, but never had, until the penny finally dropped. As well as looking cool, it needs to work without fanning about, so it can only be a quartz.

I'm the same. Quartz is great. Hardy and accurate. Lovely watch. Glad you finally found your seiko quartz diver.

That is way too nice to be a beater!

But you're right about the merits of quartz. For the same reason this SBBN007 is one of my favorite Seikos:

I really like that, plus it's a birth year watch for me. What do I need to know to go about finding one? What kind of price range am I looking at?

    Seiko quartz divers

The nice ones have increased in value of late but I should think £100-150 for a 7548 in good nick. Great thing is there are lots of parts available to bring them back to as new, not original of course but for a beater..

I just stuck up a WTB for a vintage Seiko quartz diver.

Tatty, or non original, I'd say £100-£150. Nice, original or spa'd, I'd say £250.

The oldies truly are the best.

    You aren't wrong there... I have recently got into Seikos for the first time and purchased a 7A28, a 1994 7002 7000 and I have a 1977 6139 7100 helmet enroute.

I must admit that the vintage Seikos really have a certain charm about them and would love to own a 6105.

Nice. However, I have yet to get excited by them based on the photos - how do they stack up in the flesh?

    Show your Seikos.

Just picked this up from the PO.

Modified by Brad & fresh on my wrist.

Love the changes over the SKX, but in my mind still representative of the original.

Want to get a vintage seiko diver next, but need to see how the pillow cases work on my wrist.

Looks to have made the trip real in real good shape... don't forget to show off the signed crown, boast of the 6R movement, and the funky day/date. Hands will always be marmite... but I love em

I'm really impressed. And like you I wasn't 100% sure from pictures but owners always seem quietly happy. Now I have it in my hands I'm completely blown away by how much quality there is in this. The bezel action...hmm nice, the insert - not sure if it is ceramic but it's up there with the ceramic Rolex. Bracelet is very very well made and comfy...and the right size 20mm lugs tapering nicely down to the 18mm extending divers clasp. It would be icing on the cake to have a signed crown... and I don't believe the crystal is sapphire either? I would say it's a big step up from the Sumo in quality and it also works better with rubber and NATOs with the shorter lug length. Dare I say it's a keeper

I didn't get excited by the MM300 in the flesh either. Too me personally, it's a 'good' watch. But that's it.

Popular choice but a lot get flipped too.
