I'm really enjoying my new Shogun. I had previously been unsure about the value for money but I was wrong. While it would still be nice to have sapphire at the price point, the other things about which I was unsure have faded away. I bought it from Rob at Monsterwatches.

The Monster hands fit well with the other visual elements of the watch's appearance. The titanium is incredibly light and looks spectacular, as does the stellar lume. I like the Prospex X in preference to the rather naff cursive font used previously. I like a 60 click bezel and everything lines up on this one! For a big watch, it wears much smaller and due to weighing 112gms it's very comfortable.

The time-keeping is very, very good. On the wrist the 6R15 is running perfectly 0s deviation. I've been testing the positional differences overnight. First night was -6s resting face up. Resting crown up last night was -3 seconds and I'll see what crown down brings tonight.

Better late than never. Right. :)

EDIT: I was curious to know how much a replacement Titanium link was from Seiko, as although I have a good fit, I'm on the last adjustment point on the clasp. I contacted Seiko UK CS and was quoted £105.96 including post and vat!

Very nice indeed but take care if you're there at the weekend, the wind is coming in!

I loved sailing up the whole Caledonian Canal on a school trip back in the 70s. We had small three cruisers, each captained by a teacher, with a final year 2nd i/c and then younger boys whose job was to jump off and manage all the locks, as at Neptune's Staircase. That was in late April during Easter holidays and I remember we woke up one morning to find inches of snow covering the boats and mountains!

Great pictures! I think the best looking and most versatile watch for the money available. Had mine for 5 years, and it's survived dozens of flips of other watches in that time. Love it.

Arrived today from tz sales corner, squeezed a 20mm hirsch on just to try it (bracelet yet to be resized). A lovely thing, simple, classic.

Ah, it's not strongbow, just a strongbow bar mat. The tincture is Amstell Bier. The beer is nice, but the GS is a tad nicer. Spending this quality time pondering strap choices for it.

Amstel is fine too have fun with the straps, I think a semi-glossy alligator would look very smart.

Yes, was thinking alli or croc, not too shiny (great minds and all that). A nice Seiko light grey Croc on Tungchoy is calling, only $20 with buckle. Mmmmm.....

Yup, Seiko use this shape (or a very similar shape) on a number of watches. It's a shape I find very aesthetically pleasing.

Instantly regretted selling the Transpolar, managed to find this. Prefer the colour of the dial and hands. Whacked it on the strap I bought for a Bulova moony.

1969 6159-7001 serviced by Duncan (TheWatchBloke) and nos bezel fitted.
This is the original Seiko professional hi-beat diver. The 6215-7000 that preceded it used a low-beat movement. The current MM300 is the modern reincarnation of this watch.

Sorry for posting yet another snap of my MM300. Just admiring it in great light, and the iPhone captured it remarkably well.

Here's my 6139 which was bought new by me in Dubai for about £20 back in 1972. It's still going strong. Dubai has come a long way since then as well.

A bit too chunky for the wrist I suggest? Approx 500mm!
The time at Fuerteventura Airport is sponsored by Seiko.
