One of two early Seiko Quartz watches I bought for peanuts from eBay late last year.

This one is a Silverwave (I always want to call it the Silverware!).

The other's a 3003, but it's having some love and care lavished on it currently.

Nice Seiko's in this topic :-)

A picture of my own modded SKX 007:

Bought the SKX007 on the Dutch Marktplaats.nl

Modded it with the following parts:
    -dial
    -hands
    -Chapter ring.

However I am thinking about modding it again to a more modern look. First want to change the glass for a sapphire version.

The great pictures in this thread have inspired me to order a Marine Master Tuna SBBN015, on it's way from Seiya Japan.

I already have this one but really like the look of the all steel brushed Marine Master.

Anyone got a saga? Curious what they actually look like? Seem to be their version of an oceanus or atomic citizen.

Another one from my collection, bought it to try out the direct drive function, it,s not like winding a mechanical watch has to be wound for several minutes to get a small increase in power reserve.

Rather than start a new thread and following up on my question above, since this is where the Seiko fans hang out - what do people think of this commentary?

Hehe, I think it's a Seiko thing. Their product ranges always seem to be mutating and changing. Confusingly they seem to re-use range names or, at least, re-target ranges over time.

I seem to remember I commented elsewhere on the mystery of Seiko's brand/range naming choices.

I feel that one just has to take it as it is: If you like a particular watch, then fine. If a particular range appeals to you at a particular time then so be it, but don't expect that it will remain static.

Just pure class. Every time I've been tempted to buy the SARB version I've not gone through with it simply because it isn't this one.

My SKX173 - the US version of the SKX007. I like this one much more than the 007 - the triangle, the square indices (also next to the date) and especially the seconds hand suit me better.

I received this recently from a super bloke on this very forum who couldn't get away with it. It's an A914-5010.

I've never had an LCD watch so I'm a little taken with it. I also love it's retro look:

Its a yobokies bezel insert with double domed saphire crystal also from yobokies

Im thinking on using the sword hands and black day wheel from the snzh55 on this one.
It will be my first attempt modding a watch and if i'm succsefull ill post the result here.

Great mod Captain. I was thinking of doing something similar as aesthetically IMHO it just isn't quite as good as it could be.

This one isn't a bad Mod - about halfway to where I'd like mine to end up: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/sei...ck-957832.html

i am really liking the last of the Seiko Brightz in Alansmithee post/link above - the Panda-ish dial Chrono - really taken with that.

Those Panda reissues are very nice.
I have the first 50th anniversary chrono to come out, the SDGZ005. Lovely piece also..

Here's one more wristlet from me (18,4 cm wrist).

Wow! Very of their time, but undeniably cool. In many ways I find such things a bit more interesting than more 'timeless' designs...

I've been wearing this 6309 a lot recently on a black zulu. 6309's are rather addictive.

My panda. A lot of watch for the money picked it up for about £125 a few years ago. Couldn't do that with an in house Swiss movement. T
