It is superb in everything. Apart of maybe case thickness.

The sheer number of Seiko models and releases amazes me, I've never really looked into the history of them all but I've been aware of the brand for some time (who hasn't?) all of mine have been purchased within the last 5 or so years through heads up etc. I saw this pic of your '147' which reminded me of this one of mine which I've decided to put on for the evening
(excuse the poor phone pic. doesn't quite reflect the similar colours)

Newly acquired JDM March 1999 7C46-7008 very wearable a nowhere near as big as 49mm suggest. Won’t exactly slide under the cuff but it’s far too nice to hide. I love the silkiness of the shroud and the hands really do catch the light.

SKXA35 for the first time in a while today. I’d forgotten how much I like it on the original strap.

    That's great!

Very 90's green, same as the Casio DW290...but times one thousand

I can't find it via Google, do you know much about it?

Not a whole lot, as you say there is not much online about this model. Have tried for some time to find a manual for it but alas no luck. Most I can find is functional descriptions in old sales posts like this one: https://forums.timezone.com/index.ph...0&rev=&reveal=
It has a ’sibling” model, M796, in titanium.

Well enjoy it...and post more pictures!

I suspect you're unlikely to bump into anyone else wearing one !

Thanks. Nice to see a classic Seiko wave caseback on such an unusual watch.

Modded SKX007, not sure on the bezel, might go back to original.

The original bezel may be more usable.

This little guy arrived today: SKX171 with 007 bezel. Love the applied markers, couldn’t live with the original bezel.

I’ve also owned an SKX009 for a few years but that one’s perfect as it is, so no mods!

I’ve been wanting to learn a bit more about movements for a while so I’m planning on taking out the 7s26 and using that as a starting point for dismantling and reassembly. I’m planning on dropping an NH36 into it among other things so it should be safe to completely ruin the original movement if it turns out I have no aptitude!

I’m also thinking about putting a king turtle (SRPE03) dial and handset and combining with an uncle seiko curved-end waffle strap for super waffleness, but those are too expensive to harvest for parts right now...

Don't use the bezel but would rather have the original, came with the GMT so will have to source one.

Really like that. I’ve now started to search for 171’s online. Thanks, I think

  42. #6992
    You’re welcome!

Watch out: You’ll spot a couple on eBay advertised at >£700 for the complete watch, which is frankly ludicrous!
