Thanks. Throughout my years of Seiko diver ownership I've lusted after the 6105-8110. I've had loads of 6309 and 6306s but the one I have now has remained the constant want. However, seeing that photo made me doubt myself.

Good job we're not all the same!

One of two turtle incomings - the modern one first, a STO. Got over my hatred of the X. Glad I did - Love how the light catches this dial! And I forgot how damn comfortable cushion cases are!

Hi John - it isn’t. Mine is a Sharkey case and crown, NH35 (Seiko 4R36) movement, AM dial and hands and coin edge bezel.

Since I bought it I’ve sold every other watch!

I’ve always lusted after this model of Seiko but prices for good ones have always been too high for me.

    This is an absolute beauty.

    Thanks for your comments.

And to add - a very well conceived mod. Even forgetting prices finding a good condition one is also a nightmare.

That's a massive improvement, a proper looking tool watch now, very nice indeed. Was the shroud a simple, straight swap?

I think we had very similar days today...

I've ordered the SDBX017 waffle strap to pair with this as the SLA021 doesn't come with it anymore.

It's pretty stiff. Will give it a few weeks but may end up doing the hot water in a mug routine.

Took these two on holiday along with a different brand GMT. Wanted to bring the SRP777 too but realised I was being silly.

Finally managed to upgrade the crystal to a slim double dome sapphire. Think I'm done now on this watch.

Only thing original is the case, dial and hands!

SLA021 back on what it belongs - the original waffle strap.

Seiko need to stop shipping higher end watches with the same cheap silicone strap that comes on the SRP models.

    I agree.

Mine has the original waffle strap but this is a great option.

Uncle Seiko or Cousins? Looks good. The Seiko waffle strap is £55 which is outrageous!

    Crazy price.

I don't think Cousins sell waffle type straps.

This was £10.95 on the Bay and its nice and soft and very pliable, unlike the OEM waffle strap. It doesn't take 2.5mm fat bars but does take 2mm fat bars. As the lug holes are fairly wide on the MM300's, the choice of spring bars is very important.

I have found that if you heat the strap up in hot water then it is possible to push the spring bars in. Of course, when the strap cools then it is being stretched by the larger spring bars, so may cause the strap to fail. However this has not happened to me so far.

Nice bracelet on the Solar Tuna, I should be getting a new strap for mine soon.

Love the Spring drive above as well.

LordMatic I picked up recently, chosen primary for the linen dial without a date window
