    Hi Bill

    Those are fabulous!!

I have a couple of Turtles, Both are 6309 but one case is 6040 and the other is 6047!
Both have problems!, The one on the right, I was given the dial years ago by Bri, It was his first attempt at reluming and wasn't satisfied with the result as he made a very small smudge at 9 o'clock!, I bought the rest of the bits from all over the world but it seems the mainspring has broken or something has jammed in the geartrain as there's no power at all to the balance!

The one on the left runs fine but something has gone wrong with the hands set system, The hands won't move when the crown is pulled and turned!, I would have had a look at it myself years ago but arthritic hands means that I drop tools in to the watch!!
The lume on the left one is shot and is raising in places like my ole mums cakes that she used to bake!!

Here's a 7548 I picked up in January from The States

It's a lovely watch and I have just put it on an Uncle Seiko "Razor Wire" Bracelet - the Bracelet is unusual and certainly different

anyway - the Case is a 7548-7000 - the Dial would appear to be a 700C, (7548-701L T), but the black surrounds are maybe not as "crisp" as they should be? - Orange with Black lume borders - i think that the 700C was Japan only, but the date wheel is English/Spanish, so presumably from the 7000
The bezel insert is of a good quality, but I do not think that it is original, even if the gold numerals had faded to silver as apparently they can....... the pip looks too small, so a good aftermarket copy, or from another Seiko model
The hands fool me a little - Black surrounds and black blocks - second hand in B & W - they look like original Seiko, but I'm not sure from which model
The case back number indicates that it was manufactured in Jan 1981

(it could be that the dial, hands and bezel insert are aftermarket, but if so they are of a good quality)

I would have expected the hands to be gold

looking at your dial - the Dial on my watch appears to be original - surrounds are similar to yours

Look at second hand - Black and white - so the hand set has been replaced, (must be aftermarket), but I cannot find a Seiko model with that hand set, although there are 700C's on the internet with that same black hand set, but not with that second hand

There are plenty aftermarket options for hands, crystals, bezels, inserts, dials, wouldnt surprise me if it is sth like that...

But looks good and movement is bulletproof, so enjoy

Seconded, a quartz Pepsi "Turtle" would make a perfect partner for my SRP779.

Bill has a great movement in a great case there. Very envious!

Apparently the 7548 movement drops straight into the 6309 case.....with no modifications needed

I bought it already done from a guy in Finland

I have just taken some pics for the SOTC thread going on here right now.... and I will post up my Seikos here also.

Okay.....so 2 new arrivals this month... the first listed arriving only yesterday....

and the other Seiko beauties that I have accumulated over the years.

I do love Seiko and WILL continue to purchase them.

In a world where brands like to take as much money from you as they can... without giving you as much as you deserve for that money... Seiko are a refreshing difference to that concept.

My SBDB013 Springdrive Tuna 600 on a Geckota shark mesh bracelet - surprisingly lightweight as the large watch head & shroud are titanium, it’s a very comfortable watch to wear.

Well I have two of Uncle Seiko's waffles (black and green, short length) and though they're very well made, they don't fit me well sadly. Haveston make some great Natos!

Super thing, but a pain to adjust the folded link bracelet.

that's nice - why would you want to change the dial?.............or have I misunderstood you

(I prefer the one without the "5" on the face ........ I prefer it on the Caseback)...but that's just my preference

Buy another watch to fit that dial to - the one you have is in great nick and needs leaving 'as original'
