Thanks Jase - (apart from an SKX007), I'm new to Seiko, in fact one of the benefits of new Rolex Subs not being available is that you look elsewhere and the MM300's, the original 001 and 017 models, are as well built as the Rolex SS Subs, they are different to wear but equally as satisfying ........ in a way I prefer them

that's the basic problem with Seikos, there are so many models that are colourful and different and available for not much money, that it's difficult to know when to stop

There are 10 ten in one hundred

    but buying inexpensive Seiko's - there are 4 x £250 in £1,000

    if you get my meaning

(I have just bought 3 x 6309's - and could easily buy another - maybe I should name it "the Seiko disease - I had the same problem with camera equipment up to a few years ago)

Yep, it all adds up. I currently have 3 turtle reissues, a g-shock, and a 6309, some would say I could have one decent watch instead, but I think I have five decent watches.

And there you have the WIS conundrum. Build up a bunch of watches then sell most/all to fund one special watch. After a while get bored with no variety and sell the special one to fund a diverse collection. Rinse and repeat.

Lol, I've been there so many times. Always start to think I cant justify an expensive watch when I have one, sell it, and end up spending as much on a small selection. Sell those, buy an expensive one. Rinse and repeat.
As I'm getting older though it's definitely nicer not to worry about losing, damaging or getting mugged for an expensive watch.

    Show your Seikos.

Just ordered a new bracelet for this - so thought I’d try it on the lumpy that I already have.

Not bad actually. It’s become my favourite mod...

It is a SLA025J or I believe another ref is SBEX007 - a LE "reissue" of the 6150-7001 from 1968 .... and it also looks like the SBDX003 issued in 2000 .......... I think!

    It was issued in 2018

Found these two old soldiers in a box yesterday.

My late Dad bought the left hand one new in 1979 and the right hand one was bought by me new in 1981.

Put new batteries in them (surprisingly two different battery types) and they both fired up straight away.

    Reminders of time gone by.

    Cheers,
    Neil.

Looks far enough out to be able to adjust

if you don’t know... You can adjust the seconds (and the other two sub hands for that matter) hand by pulling the crown out and pressing the buttons to set them to 12

Thanks James - I got that "pulling the crown out" bit to adjust the two sub hands - the chrono hand, (is that what you call it), is just a shade off - not sure how to adjust that, it it a matter of taking the hand off and repositioning it - the three hands "zero" OK when ending the stop watch function

The watch is in really good nick - I have the original bracelet, just doing a little work on it, (mainly a good clean)

photos show every little mark, no matter how small.

I tried this and the black dial model on this morning and am quite impressed. You can see that the crown guards and the bracelet aren’t as good as the SKX but I like the dials, applied indices and Matt inserts. A good effort.

    The unbeatable 007

the more you consider the "simple" design the more you realise how good it is - a £200 watch on Jubilee bracelet - simply a bargain

This is the last of three that I have had, now definitely a "keeper"

    Show your Seikos.

The shade of blue is spot on to me. It's stunning. The timekeeping is now more like chronometer specifications rather the quoted figure of +15 to - 10 a day. It's running at +2 seconds. Other owners are experiencing the same.

I'll take better photos in better light and with a blue waffle strap fitted, soon.

That blue looks really nice. As usual with Seiko you need real world owner photos to get a good idea of what it really looks like so I appreciate the pictures. Natural light shots would be great. Very nice watch indeed and no doubt the first on the forum.

    A couple of 7's

7548-700B and a 7002-700A, this one was bought off the Forum last week and I believe that it should have a Pepsi insert like the 7548

    Quick desk shot

just too many Seiko's - maybe collect one for each year, they are all date coded

6309-7040 with parts taken from a 7548-700B, including the quartz movement. Call it an old school version of the SRP PADI... I couldn't really find a place for it in my collection in the end, so it's currently for sale.
