    It was. Super polished diashield.

Kept the polished top edges as they match the lugs and crown

Looks much better after the Garryflex - I sold my SBBN033 as it was too shiny for my tastes. Nicely done.

Giving my 1995 SKA016 titanium kinetic some wrist time today. Apart from the usual change from original 90s capacitor to a rechargeable cell it’s still working perfectly. Have had to repair the bracelet a few times as the gold-coloured links fail, and the power reserve button won’t spring back if I press it in. My wife has the matching small-size version and still wears it too.

Have a Flightmaster too but only sees occasional wear. These are the divers that find their way in to rotation.

Apologies if it's been covered before, but can someone point out the main differences between the Sumo and the "MM200"? They look almost identical and have very similar specs but the MM200 commands a hefty premium, particularly for limited edition pieces.

The MM200 is better quality by miles. Bracelet leagues ahead (Sumo has the Turtle bracelet), sapphire, better crown, diashield coated, bezel difference is night and day.

The movement is the same in both assuming you are looking at the newer MM200. If not it's 6R15 Vs 6R35 (assuming new Sumo).

Had both still and still have my SPB079 MM200. Pic attach albeit not the greatest of pics. Would love a higher spec/quality Sumo - the green dial is great.

No comparison. Bog standard Sumo is a POS in comparison to MM200. My opinion only.

Now you tell me after I bought your SPB103J1 (green Sumo) from you ;)

A couple of points in the Sumo's defence... It has got a sapphire crystal and I don't think diashield is so much of a plus point - if you do actually scratch it, it's more difficult to sort out (as I understand it, Seiko don't use diashield on any of their GS range). But the killer for me is the MM200 handset - I can't abide the hour hand (which is a shame as I would really like it otherwise).

Another plus for your/my Sumo is that its 6R35 is running at something between 0 and +0.5spd :)

The handset is by far the biggest letdown on the MM200 - almost unforgivable. I've thought about buying the MM300 handset but it's too short and I don't really want to mess around with it. Not a huge fan of the handset on the new one, they should have kept it ""MM style".

I'll keep buying Seikos, moaning about them, then selling them until I admit total defeat and go back for a third MM300!

    Show your Seikos.

Cheapest seiko I’ve owned but definitely one of my favourites. Even the supposedly crappy 7s26 movement is rock solid at around +1 per day (after a bit of gentle regulation anyway)

Beaten up beater from the boot sale. Had it about 10 years. 34mm Waffle dial SQ100. Just keeps on going. Binned the bracelet cos it was ripping the hairs off my arm. Lume is dim for about 5 minutes. Distortion on the dial is caused by multiple scratches on the crystal. Battery only lasts about 18 months. Originally they lasted around 5 years on these.

That’s great fun and the lume looks pretty good. I like it.

Edit: I see everything is lumed including the chapter ring. Have a look at the mods and wreckers thread, kaffe managed to track down a lumed date wheel. That would look awesome on this.
