    The case is very similar
The case looks just like the 007 at first glance but they have slightly different dimensions to the quartz.

Apropos of nothing I think the quartz is a far better choice as a beater/tool watch.

Trying a WatchGecko mesh on my SPB149 today - this might be the bracelet I’ve been waiting for. Maybe a bit of a big gap at the lugs seen from certain angles, but it’s very comfortable and I think it works really well with the 149’s generally classic look.

    Willard

After dithering over the green ones on SC, and them selling before I decided to go for it, I made the rash decision to buy new.
I know these are silly money, but, this feels well put together and I can almost justify the price to myself.

I have chosen the black dial version, I already have a green dial Sumo. Bracelet straight off, and put a MM300 strap on in its place. I have to say I am very impressed with how it looks and wears. I wish I had the cash to get the SLA033!

As far as my poor old eyes can tell, everything just about lines up - I am not going to be looking for issues just in case.

Another one to show how the green can change from almost black to this hastily taken pic (which is obviously inside, in the natural sunlight its pretty impressive).

The Sumo is what got me into Seiko's back in 2010, I've owned 4 since. This iteration (although not one for the purists with the ps/x) is by far the best. Timekeeping is within a couple of seconds a day, I prefer the bezel font and the sapphire is a big improvement.
Paired with the strapcode jubilee and mm clasp (which some don't like either), it's nigh on perfect, for a Sumo :-)

Here's another oldie and quite a rare model.

Seiko Silver Wave Z from Decemeber '78.

    Should have dusted it.

    Cheers,
    Neil.

Bought from Kippax on Thursday night. It is absolutely magnificent. Quick wrist shot before it goes to a friend next week
    Alignment also perfect

Its a Sinn rubber strap and clasp I've used it before on this one but with a black clasp

First year (1978) Seiko 7548-700B with SKX007 insert, black day and date wheels, double domed (non AR coated) sapphire and NOS crown. A light case refinish. Just finished. The original wabi'd Pepsi insert and original crystal are tucked away.

    Before......

    After.....

1972 (I think) Pogue although purchased in 1974 by my father. A few marks and scratched crystal but totally original as far as I know.

Still runs nicely and barely if ever been serviced.

They are a classic, that's for sure.

A latest purchase via Japan. A Japanese home market 7549-7010. Not cheap plus I was battered with tax and duty, but it's a nice one.

Still searching for the orange version.
    Not really.
There are several variations that I don’t own.

Very nice. Not bad for 42yrs old. The orange is so bright for its age and a wonderful matt finish.

    That's a cracking set!
What's the model # for the yellow one? I have a yellow dialed Pulsar chrono/alarm that he's always hinting at "borowing" so he'd love that BFK. :D

Can we post Pulsar pics in this thread, they are Seiko movements, after all?

SKX009 just arrived, really pleased with it. Previous owner had it modified with AR coated sapphire, NH36, signed crown and black kanji day/date wheel.

Did you get that one from eBay? Vey nice.

If its the one from eBay I came very close to going for it.

Love the shade of blue, possibly my favourite Sumo.
