Postman delivered this today made in April 1979 and bought from the original owner.
It will be getting a clean shortly as it’s a bit dirty and the bezel is currently stuck but I just love the dial colour.

    Cheers

^^^ Wow, that's a stunner. Not common to see these in good condition nowadays.

Thanks Mark and I sort of stumbled across it without actually looking for this model. I seem to have been fortunate lately picking this up and a lovely 7A28 “Pogue” a few weeks earlier.

    Cheers

Ha ha, Ive actually always liked it on a black NATO but swapped to green today for a bit of a change. I assume it should be on a Grey NATO for originality ?

Probably more suited for the ‘watches in the sunshine’ thread but thought I’d share one of my current favourites While the sun was in fact shining....

    Thanks

A couple of classics, modern and vintage.

A set of Tuna's including an SBDY041 TST mod. A modern day "ultimate Tuna".

Fantastic photo. I’ve never owned one of these despite owning many Seikos. It’s a watch that always makes me stop and think, mainly if I could handle the heft.

I just dug up my well-worn Spork a few days ago, had nearly forgotten how much I like this one. Overdue for a re-issue IMO.

Looking good! You can take a good photo Gavin. The ‘ghosting’ on the bezel was one of my favourite aspects of the watch.

I wore mine a couple of days last week. The 001 is the best looking version IMO. Something about the bezel, the domed crystal and vintage looking lume. It looks good on any strap but the bracelet it’s my favourite. (Chocolate bar rubber 2nd) it’s almost the perfect dive watch.

    This beauty arrived this morning.
Bracelet is nice, but isn’t the original and doesn’t suit the watch, so I’ll be looking for a replacement.
Just wearing ti see what sort of time it’s keeping.

    ^^^ Interesting patina there.

Going to leave it as is or might you try and clean it? (I'm not sure if cleaning it would actually be possible but I do wonder sometimes).

I think that watch would look good on a decent leather strap or perhaps a mesh bracelet/strap.

It doesn’t look as bad/yellow in real life. I’m tempted to try to clean it up but I’m not sure where to even start. I’ll have to do some research.

I have a few spare Seiko straps that I might try on it. I’ve been having a look online to try to work out what the original bracelet would have looked like.

Wearing it again today to give it a run out. Seems to be keeping pretty good time.

  44. #8194
    I would not clean it.
That patina is what makes it special...hence the name "KS Special" :)

    Tnx

What to choose? SARG vs SARW. Both are a joy to wear... Love that military layout and versatility. 40mm is ideal for casual but works also as a dressy piece.

And why the gave up from "S" on the crown? Small detail but watch looks so much better
