I've just bought a sumo Hulk too, waiting for a tool to arrive to allow me to resize the bracelet, then it'll be in the wrist!

SLA021 today. Feels so sophisticated compared to the BB41 I picked up last week. Certainly hides it size a lot better.

Always stunning, and makes me miss mine
Never got on with that strap personally, but as long as you like it my friend.

Thank you. I love this strap but understand it being marmite. The SLA021 doesn't come on it so I had to buy two -- one for this, another for my SPB079. Just love that it doesn't get fluff stuck to it all day.

    A very valid point
Mine always ended up back on the bracelet.

Still undecided what to do about the 2020 Alpinists, but in the meantime I can continue to enjoy these fellows from the mid 90s.

Someone posted a pic of this on FB, the SRQ029J1 which according to the poster was only released today and he had been promised the first one by his AD.

Looks great, but I seem to recall people spluttering in their beer about the price a while back.

Anyway, here is the first wrist shot in the wild.

How much is this going for? The wild pics look good, but I don't think there is a place for the 'X' on this type of watches - dive watches fine, but a bit much on this chrono. It also looks weird on the upper portion of the dial.

Just checked - 50th anniversary limited edition of 1,000 - wait for it...... £3,290.00

I agree about the X - causing a similar issue on the new Alpinists to be released in Jan 2020

Watch brands keep confusing the term limited edition with limited market or limited amount of more money than sense punters.

It is a nice watch but for the money that's nonsense.

Not been off the wrist since it arrived.
Surprisingly it has remained on the remarkably comfortable strap, rather than going onto my usual preference, the bracelet.

Hot Goddaaaaaam - that is not cheap! Cannot tell from the pic if this is a bit fat, but I assume this is the vertical clutch chrono movement that they've been using over the last few years.

I reckon this collection is probably Seiko's best diver out there at the moment. If I wore divers more, I'd get one!

I wear Divers most of the time, and this one has blown me away.
Wish it was a Limited Edition, rather than a ‘Special’ Edition.
Dial is beautifully clear, usual Seiko nuclear lume, and almost runs to COSC!

SARX line, 033 in this case, there's a 035 with black dial. Finishing on these models is way above their price range, IMHO. Sapphire crystal, 100m WR, 6R15, 5 piece links on the bracelet, half-link, blue heated hands...

Thank you Jim, I was quite lucky with the Black and White, they came from the same seller. The Green one is the hard one to find of that trio, which I picked up from buyee.jp the Japanese auction site.

I've working on the next generation of the SARB releases and I am waiting for one to arrive which will complete the line up. I'll post a picture when it's here of all of them together.

Superb! I think the blue Alpinist is my favourite! The SARB015 (i think, bottom second from left) is also good. But seriously good at collecting them all.

SRPC49K1 from this morning. Lovely watch and the best turtle imo but never gets wrist time due to the spb079/mm200 and the sla022/mm300.

It's in SC if anyone's interested but not seen.

Thanks, I agree the SARB015 doesn't get the love it deserves because it looks different to the others, but I think it's a great watch and one that is not easy to find.

What next though? The guy who sold me the SARB013 also has these (although it's not his photo)

That Blue one on the right hand side is probably the rarest and most valuable Alpinist made. It was a limited edition of 500 around 15 years ago and never appears for sale.

Alternately I could work my way through the 2020 releases.

At present I am waiting for the guy with the Quartz models to get back to me.

Thanks Robbie, yes, just a bit under. I think the official measurement is 38.5mm but with the crown guards and crown it does have the feel of a 40mm watch.

Now we've got proper pictures, I really like the new ones!

The older ones - Titanium is in keeping with the explorer philosophy for sure. But I guess depends on how deep you want to go down this hole!!!

You are right of course, but the collector in me is naturally attracted to the Blue one if that is offered at a reasonable price. I believe the last one sold was a NOS full set and was bought by a US Senator for $5000.00. Where all this information comes from I'm not sure, but that is miles above what I could or even would want to pay - so we will see.

Buying all four does seem like a hole, but do I really need a third Green or Black from the 2020 releases.

    $5 grand!?!? Wow!

I’d be more content with one from that series and the white one from the new alpinist. But I don’t have your ruthless need to collect. You sir have a nice predicament
