I've met Robert Loomes a couple of times and found him to be a real stand up gent. I phoned home a couple of years ago to ask if he could make me a watch case and although he couldn't, so nothing for him to gain, he spent a good half an hour talking about my project, giving advice and giving me a couple of contacts I could use.
You don't get that at Rolex!
Well, a link is a good way to start, and maybe some information...

ETA: £5000 for a quartz watch?

After looking at the link, I would suggest nobody is talking about them as they are pretty ugly (to my eyes, at least). I especially like the page (watch number 5) whish states that due to the componants used it is unlikely the watch will ever be available in steel, whilst quoting a price for the steel model on the same page.
The tech used doesn't seem to be of any significant benefit, YMMV.
Ambitious.

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Hoptroff have been discussed here on the forum before. Search for 'hoptroff' in Watch Talk.
Here is the first mention: http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.ph...t-atomic-watch. They were at Salon QP in November too, if I remember correctly.
The percentage of share movement ?
No thanks, that's the last thing I'd like on a watch...
I have genuinely, seriously considered a Loomes. Stamford is 30 mins from me. Must go and have a gander
