    Another vote for Suits.

I'd love to have more 'free' time to watch some of the shows that others have recommended.

From the Earth to the Moon

Band of Brothers and From the Earth to the Moon are simply phenomenal television.

I would also add the recent Battlestar Galactica series - in the very top echelons of the best television drama ever made.

For comedy I would recommend Arrested Development, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, The Office (US version) and Community.
So clever my foot fell off.

It's worth remembering that there's a wealth of stuff available in the Channel 4 back catalogue for free - amongst them

    Black Books
    Father Ted
    Shameless

    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

I would recommend Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones along with many others, but for something completely different I have watched the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender and it is excellent. Admittedly, it is written for kids (I watched it with my 10 year old son), but it was so good that I assumed it had been taken from a series of books, but no - it is a standalone series.

If you haven't seen Boardwalk Empire on Sky Atlantic, then it's a no brainer.
And there's been 3 series of 12, so plenty to watch and enjoy.

There was a film, I think.

    "Hannibal"

Awesome depiction of Hannibal Lecter , its so dark and terrible but amazingly beautiful too. Quite entrancingly perverse and Hannibal is so evil but so cool its compulsive viewing.
