I enjoy procrastinating and wasting time doing nothing in equal measure.

I'd really like to take up sailing.

If I'm honest, my passion is finding new passions.

    I'm a serial hobbyist.

The best bit of any hobby is the beginning phase where you find out how much there is to learn and how your skill and\or knowledge massively increases with a little research and effort.

Few of these hobbies end up being life long passions, but some stick.

The things I love are cycling, fly fishing and photography. This things will stay with me for ever.

Things I've dropped (after spending lots) include kayaking, flying (bye bye ppl), shooting, fly tying, carp fishing, motor biking, sky diving (indoor).

Things I know I'll pick up in future when I have time include astrophotography and probably flying again.

In essence, I just love learning. That's my biggest passion. The best year of my life was spent doing my masters and if my lottery ticket came in I'd be off to Harvard to do another.

Drinking. And sleeping. They're my two real passions.

If I had spare cash, a bit of space and a little more time, it would be tinkering with classic cars.

No, I am from the european mainland; there are quite a lot of attractive ladies about, no need to date the horsey ones.

Music is my thing. When I was younger I was playing guitar in couple bands and we had record contracts and made few albums and played live. After those active playing years I discovered Hi-Fi and I have been hobbying it almost ten years now. Bought new speakers in January and I hope I have now couple years ahead just music listening without any gear updates. I have about 1500 cd album/single collection and I'm bying more. I'm also a member of local Hi-Fi Hobbyist Society and we get together occasionally to listen some new Hi-Fi gear or just new music. Sometimes we have aromatic music evenings with good food and drinks or music evenings with different themes.

I also enjoy reading quite much. I like historical novels, war and military history/novels, sci-fi and cyberpunk, biographies, agent thrillers etc. I just bought John Coltrane's and Miles Davis' biographies. Those two were great musicians.

Then I enjoy a lot of good food and drinks, beer, cider and red wine.

I'm not really passionate about anything apart from my family but I am a fan of vintage watches and antiques/collectables in general which is why in the clement months I am usually scouring flea markets and boot sales.

My other hobby is electric guitar playing and all the paraphernalia that goes with it.

I am also a West Ham supporter.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

I am not copying anyone else's answers, promise. Any reason why there are so many divers and musicians on a watch forum?

I love to Freedive or Scuba but opportunities are limited with a 2 yr old and new baby due any day. I also play guitar but the collection is down from 5 to 1 as I am not playing with a band at the moment.

Reading, Diving (scuba but interested in giving free a go) and have recently been getting more interested in power lifting, strong man type stuff just to keep me motivated training wise.

Starting my PADI instructor soon to try and turn my love for diving into something more.

Aside from my classic american cars (already stated)... I'm beginning to spend to much on quality wines.

Sod it, who cares (we've all got to have some vice's).

I have too many hobbies/interests really, but my main ones are Modern British art, Mid Century furniture, cars (Porsche in particular) and football (playing, and watching Burnley).

I envy some of the posts on here because, frankly, I could do with some new hobbies. I was into classic cars for years but sold my TR6 3 years ago (lack of space to work on it, lukewarm enthusiasm, missus didn`t like it) and I now miss the hobby. Also forced to quit running a couple of years back owing to injuries.

Walking, keeping fit, listening to music and reading are my pastimes (and watches, of course) but I do miss the running and the cars. Also like holidays and military history.

And a slightly eccentric guilty secret.......I collect Fred Perry Polo shirts; this started (co-incident with my mid-life crisis) several years ago 'cos I couldn`t afford them as a teenager in the 70s.

I`m 56 years young....still (some) of life in the old dog yet

Did yoú experience the being able to spend the money on yoúr choices as a crisis?

I find it most peculiar that when men adapt to a new phase of their lives it is called a mid-life crisis but when women go though such a phase they are discovering themselves and is it a góód thing.

I don't know anyone who would argue how the idea of a woman discovering herself could be anything but a good thing.

I think it great fun! See my passions.

Therefor I find it striking that men discovering themselves is tagged a crisis. Is it perhaps the women's pov terminology which we sheepishly accept?

I don't find it that bad, but you have to select first gear early and leave plenty of space between vehicles.

My first and longest passion was British Motorcycles. The biggest was a 1000cc Ariel Square Four but my overall favourite was a Sunbeam S7. I sold my last bike a few months ago after tripping up and disclocating my shoulder. I am still in pain with it and the thought of what it would be like to come off a bike at say just 40mph scared me senseless. So it went. I always had a bike in the garage since 1966.

I also have been selling off my shotguns, mainly English ones because of the shoulder injury. I am giving the over and unders to my kids.

I have a couple of hundred solid gold cufflinks which I now hardly wear. I spent years collecting them. My favourites are solid silver AOFB ones.

I have two good hifi systems which I spend hours listening to when back in the UK. They are Naim based with a Garrard 401 record player and Shahinian speakers. However I am now long past the upgrade thingy.

I got 88 fountain pens, most of them 1948 which is my birth year. My favourite is the Parker 51s which are just ultra reliable to use and was my default pen in the office for nearly 30 years. I had an OCD thing of only signing contracts in ink when I was a Purchasing Manager. I banned ball points in my office for signing contracts. I still hate the bloody things.

I went through a mad 10 year phase of showing Bulldogs but the way the societies bred dogs that were physical wrecks made me just walk away from it.

I also drove old Jaguars as my main transport for 22 years, mainly MK11s and the favourite was an XJC6. I sold that the day after I retired and have been kicking myself ever since. I have lost count of the amount of American and Japanese tourist asking me in Oxford if my 3.8MK11 was Inspector Morses car resprayed. Mine was a golden sand colour. One tourist even bought me a cream tea in the Randolph Hotel after I gave him and his wife an impromptu tour of Oxford in the Jag, he was over the moon with that.

My latest "passion" is travelling throughout Europe but that is now beginning to wear thin as age creeps up. So it is either the UK or the villa in Spain.

    That's it.

Completely agree. Great game but horrible people.

Golf, cycling, fishing and photography for me. Don't get enough time to do them all as I like, so the activity levels raise and fall through the year.

Two wheels for me too but I find I’m spending more time modifying (well thinking about the modifying) than riding these days.
At the back there’s the green gpz750 with zxr400 running gear and now radial brakes/master cylinder.

Next to that (on the ramp) is another gpz750 with an R6 front end and vfr400, single side rear end, home made rearsets etc. That’ll be a cafe racer when finished.

The third GPz750 will either be restored to standard or (more likely) end up with a gsxr1000 front end and a vfr750 rear end (wide tyre than the 400 and also 17” wheel)

The Aprilia is standard and ready to ride.
