    Classic Sub on a NATO.

Well today, after just over a week of ownership, I put a NATO on my 14060.

I've worn it for a bit but I have to say, I don't "get it" and will be putting it straight back on the bracelet!

    What's the attraction?!!

I think the pre-white gold indices Subs look much better on a NATO strap to be honest, although I recently had my 14060M on a black NATO like yours.

The bracelet does suit the watch very well though.

No idea! They look good in photos but on the wrist feel and look like a bit of scratchy old nylon, leaves the unfinished area between the lugs exposed, stretches when it gets damp (and takes ages to dry) and altogether nasty. Don't get them at all!

I love them, but agree with an earlier poster - better on vintage watches.

Classic understated, man with the Golden Gun on this aft. Lots of sub shots!

I love the look on both bracelet and NATO, if you don't like one then wear it on the other - no big deal.
It's just a matter of time...

It's cool and does follow heritage to a degree, but there's very rarely a halfway house. You either get it, or you don't and either is fine.

That watch on a bracelet probably defines 'iconic'.

It can be quite fun trying it on the brighter NATOs, especially stripy ones.

Yep, watched this, this afternoon. Roger Moore's sub looked so classy with everything he wore in that film...

But to the OP, I am typing this wearing my sub date on a black 2 piece nylon "nato." A much cleaner look in my opinion, and really comfortable to boot.

Maybe I've just had bad examples, but I've tried a couple of NATOs and found them very uncomfortable to wear.

A timely thread, I've not been wearing my Sub for sometime but on Saturday put it on a nylon strap and its so less blingy IMHO, I like it.

I guess because of the James Bond movies, the SUB is associated with NATO too.
Personally I find it hard to see.

I like it, need to get one. Any recommendations for a good online source of quality natos?

Be careful, Rick; dissing NATO straps on TZ is on a par with shooting Bambi!

Try cutting off the extra bit of strap. I think natos are much better with the buckle at the underside of your wrist rather than the side.

An old Sub on a grey and black striped NATO. That's the way to go. Plus you can't bash the clasp on the desk!

This is my only sub that works with a NATO. Cyclops and NATOs on the other hand are a no no.

Nice cufflinks! Is that an old watch movement?

Up to a point, but Bond never wore a NATO - a striped nylon strap (4mm too narrow) with a nylon keeper, but not the standard Pusser's issue grey nylon with 3 stainless strap retainers, and a buckle. The sort of thing that guys like these wore their Rolex Subs on (jammy buggers - I got a quartz CWC, not a Rolex):

Of all the Nato combinations I tried on my 14060M, while none looked bad, the classic skunk bond nato was best of all, yet, every time I put the bracelet back on, that's when it felt right.

Each to their own....just totally don't get S/S Rolex on NATO straps compared to Steel (one exception is Rubber B for the DSSD.....) as intended.

Just for the sake of balance: I mostly
Wear my 1972 1680 red sub on a NATO.
But would never wear comedy cufflinks.
'Taste' is a funny old thing and very personal.

For home defence, you are better off with Mach 10.

    Scratchy nylon NATOs?
Yup, most I buy are like that - until I put them through the washing machine with a bit of fabric conditioner...
