    Well...

My opinion is that Mk. II and Steinhart have versions of that design already,
which means that void has been filled.

Does look good though, especially the older, thinner style bezel

I need that piece on my wrist this instant.

MKII have no design like this for sale currently.
Everyone knows how good Steinhart are (I own one) but Eddie's are better.

I like that a lot, although if it were a toss up between this and the vintage Daytona homage that might be on the cards I'd go for the latter

Where to get the movement, though, considering difficulties with sourcing the 2893-2 for the PRS-21 and PRS-22GMT...

    Something Chinese? Something Japanese?

Yup, does need a date imo.

I like cyclopes on Rolexes but I could live without one here. ;-)

    Quartz, yes; Sapphire no.

Keep the costs down - there's no GMT beaters out there.

At the right price this would REALLY fly off the shelf.

    I'd grab one at £200.

Good point about there being no GMT beaters. I'd also get a quartz version.

I'd buy that if it had the date (Cyclops or not I don't care) and was 40mm

It needs to turn. The bezel, that is...

Good work but personally I prefer the bezel on the original art work

Quartz GMT would be good - kind of wish I hadn't sold my Benarus Worldiver GMT.

I think so too. More likely for it to be easily affordable this way (as long as the second hand hits the markers!).

How could you!? What was the movement in that?

It was a Miyota quartz movement - can't remember the calibre was.

    Thanks.

Sounds like a plausible movement for this idea, should Eddie take an interest in it.

I'm very happy with the Steinhart version, which is not always available.

Might be a fair amount of interest for another option to purchase the design.

Virtually impossible to achieve for a whole batch of watches. Hitting the markers isn't something you can do very much about as I understand it. Wouldn't bother me, it didn't on my 2264 and it doesn't on my 18Q but I understand why it does bother some people.

Would have to be the original design for me.

It depends on the movement. Some are more consistent than others.

In my experience, older Seiko quartzes are the best, not that that would help here.

Just checked and it was the 6M17 movement - which according to the Miyota website is discontinued.

Looks like RONDA do a range of quartz GMT movements.

Oooh I've never started something before but it looks like I have with my quartz comment!

I seem to recall Eddie saying once that quartz is a good option for a diver (?) and is certainly a good idea for a grab and go beater.

GMT is for travel and that's also when I want quartz - lighter, cheaper, more accurate and can be left unworn for a few days without needing to be reset.

I had the Steinhart, but it felt 1-2mm too big (even for my large wrist).
Crown design is unforgivable. Engineer responsible for it should be sacked immediately. It protrudes too much from the case. Ugly and uncomfortable.
Bracelet was also not very nice.

I;m in the market for an Explorer II homage. Did anything come of this?

    A clone lacks personality.
    And needs to be credible.

The white everest hits the spot,
    But not that

    Quartz
    40mm
    Smaller crown, smaller guards
Date window at 3 or 6 NO CYCLOPS
    Small clasp on bracelet

Eddie would probably sell a bunch.

Then again, Steinhart has one already out, though an auto. I think Eddie's other projects / maybe projects should take precedence before he runs with this one.

Still, I do like the concept/render.
