Video of my new Rolex Submariner 116610 featured on the Archieluxury channel

I sent this iPhone video to Archie and he's edited it into a video for his YouTube channel. Just thought some here might like to see some close up footage of the ceramic Sub.

I had a very stern word with myself after forking out for the SubC - "You've spent quite enough money for the time being!" etc....

.....Then promptly went and bought 100thmonkey's Speedy last night!

Love the watch but finding it hard to understand why you involved Archieluxury. This is in watch talk and Archie has a potty mouth. Just saying

Perhaps it was misjudged to post the link here? No bad language actually mentioned in the thread so I thought it would be ok... No offence intended.

What Archie says about new Mercs and ceramic Rollers makes a lot of sense.

Ah it was you ! Just like to say many thanks for that I spent an agonising 24hrs going cold turkey over that speedy.

As for Archie I must admit I get a lot of entertainment from his vids despite the fact one of my fave watches is a tag monaco. Although I do have at least one other watch Archie might approve of.

Amrut Fusion is supposed to be good but I've never managed to find a bottle despite being in India.

Archie is thoroughly repulsive. Entertaining though. A guilty pleasure.

That's about the size of it!

He did manage to edit my video together into something watchable, so I'll give him that.

Perhaps the OP should provide a small warning about the language in his opening post, but otherwise I don't really see any issue here. Given that we're all adults.

He is a bell-end of low intelligence, but is of some amusement value.

Sometimes though, he is spot on...

Hahaha bellend is the right word. And in other words else, Archie is the ill person whom nerves are a bit cracked..

Archie is the watch world's Sir Les Patterson... only not as funny. I must admit to laughing out loud at his "review" of the Grand Seiko line, though...

I would definitely recommend Amrut. Atleast a one time try. Is available online.

So let me get this straight. Archie's opinion has been swayed by an iPhone video of a watch he clearly has never actually handled?
I know we don't expect incisive commentary from Archie, but what exactly is this meant to prove?

Yes, I always think he stole Barrie Humphries' Sir Les Patterson persona, although in all fairness Archie wears better ties than Sir Les.

I remember when he joined the forum and lasted 5 minutes. I tried to watch one of his videos and couldn't. Not for me.

....if you can withstand the ghastly ocker accent!

Not sure why he can't afford a new "Roller", though. Can't he sell some of his "luxury goods portfolio"?
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!

The Watch Snob had been neutered last time I checked. Just another toothless "hooray for everything" shill now. There was a brief phase where it seemed to be worth the read, but it's long gone.

I think the writer has just been changed (again) and the current one is being rather kind to brands the character has previously slaughtered.

This guy Archie is an ass, he's a scammer (look at his eBay feedback, selling fake Rolex boxes as originals in 2011)
He has a video about replica watches and a link to a forum thread where he was asking the members to donate a replica Rolex to him, one of the members then busted him as a scammer. He uses other peoples pictures of genuine boxes but sends fakes so just be careful folks.

Anyway very nice watch you have there!

Brilliant, I love Archie's channel. He's totally mental but a lot of fun.

I have the same watch and agree with his comments (not that I'm biased...).

I always enjoy 'Archielux' which is a splendid mixture of earnestness, snobbery and coarseness. As dear old Sir les once remarked:

' Culture, we're up to our arses in it.'

Sold my 114060 last week; couldn't get used to that 'bling' bezel, thick lugs and general feeling of a slightly over-blown design.
When I bought the 114060 I loved it, but that wore off pretty quickly...those thick lugs are just too much for my taste. All very subjective of course. I'd still love an early model. But then, so does everyone else..hence the prices!
