I've just found this thread which has settled me a little. Still interested in your thoughts though:

Your opinions are greatly appreciated, particularly with regard to the case back markings and battery hatch:
Cheers.

Theres a battery holder inside which comes with the movement... isn't this usually left out?
There's looks to be nothing wrong with that David. If you check the caseback at 5 o'clock you should see a slight cutout on the joint to allow a blade to be inserted to remove it. Also there should be a small mark on the caseback where the crown is to allow it to be lined up with the battery hatch when refitting. The hatch looks spot on. As has been mentioned the contact plate/retainer on the top of the battery isn't usually present (at least not on the pre 2000 models) but I don't own a 2004 model so I'm not sure whether they are included on one that late.
Looks good to me
Just picked up an issued 0552 CWC from the 1980's and
an issued 1970's Hamilton G-10
I am very partial to vintage British military watches
Unfortunately they are hard to find in the US
Anyone know where to find a Hamilton crystal for the above 1970's G 10?
