He was responsible for the technical aspects of design and the project was 80% completed when he left.

I left the project with Fricker for a month after he left and nothing happened, the dials and crystals hadn't even been ordered. Roland has picked it up, acquired the components from Fricker and will complete the watch. Although he doesn't enjoy the economies of scale that Fricker does, he agreed to hold the price at that agreed with Fricker.

In case anyone is worried about this, I have every confidence in the quality of what Roland will produce because he's the only person I have dealt with at Fricker since the Dreadnought.

If anyone wishes to cancel their reservation in view of this information, please let me know by e-mail (not PM).

Do you anticipate any other crises of confidence that will result in other ongoing projects (e.g. SB3) moving elsewhere? Or is this just a one time event with the PRS-50?

It depends what you mean by "crisis of confidence".

Do I have confidence that Fricker will make a good watch? YES

Do I have confidence that Fricker will make a good watch quickly? NO

Fricker has a few big customers and I always get the impression that I, ordering comparatively small quantities, get pushed to the back of the queue.

I'll see how the PRS-50 turns out and if it matches the specification and quality, then I'll try him with another. I've always worried a bit about being solely dependent on one supplier anyway.

Speaking for the rest of us not in the top 50, there will be a non-LE i hope?

Especially now that Fricker is out of the picture?

Mmmm I would think it twice before leaving Fricker out. I think he and Eddie guarantee a very high quality level...So my hope is that when the watch comes, frustration will dissappear, and we will have a non LE done by Fricker...in the year 2020!

    Frazzled Over Fricker ?

Delays....Delays...Delays. Well, you won't get rid of me that easily! Just give those hyperactive assembler monkeys a couple of valium laced bannanas. I value Eddie's high quality made watches over how fast they can be made! Best Regards, X

No problem for me either, sounds like a good opportunity to get another supplier on board.
Looking forward to this one and it will take as long as it takes?.

What about Ickler for the cases?
I contacted them a year or so ago and they seemed helpful. And the prices were very interesting.

Ickler let me down a few years ago. Quoted me one price (in writing) and then when I ordered, invoiced a higher price and wouldn't negotiate. They don't get two chances to do that.

I dimly remember that and the resulting pictures of Eddie in a size x-small speedo, based on those memories and the many resulting trauma counseling sessions to get me back to normal..... I take back my request for a webcam.

Nicely done, Eddie. I knew the dial would be nice, but this exceeds my expectations. I suspect some of the gents who opted out due to the dial decision are kicking themselves now.

Using the scientific method of holding a ruler up to my monitor, the symbol appears to be spot on. I guess it's an optical illusion.

The red "motifs" ARE NOT centered with the yellow background. Use the cross for reference.

I've looked again and you're right. The lines and motifs are slightly south west of centre. The north east end of one line doesn't cover the yellow background. The lines on the left appear to extend onto the central red dot.

Don't worry with eddies track record it will be perfect. He has rejected dials in the past that didn't meet his standards.
