As soon as Eddie gives them, I'll put them in my original post.
That will keep this topic clean and clear!
Flat sapphire with A/R on the underside of the crystal.

Oh well, can't have everything I suppose. :cry:Originally Posted by swanbourne

P.S. A not L.E. will be also available ?
I am sorry, but I thought that the LE was to have this dial...
Did I misread something???
If I've interpreted things correctly so far, then we are looking at something like this.
It's looking so nice, I could even forgive it for having a flat crystal
Nice picture, Geoff. Where did you get the pic? Is that a SEAL or Royal Marine?

If the PRS-50 is going to look like that its a true winner.!
Is it 20mm lug width..??
Thanks
deano
If the case is 40mm across, then the lugs are 20mm
And, I guess the dial is approximately 26mm across the minute track?
(based on the porportions of the watch pictured.)
I believe it's from the SBS (if they told me, then they would have to kill me  ).Originally Posted by Michael in Frisco, Texas

Hi
Has it been said what the differences will be between the PRS-50 LE and the non-LE. :?:
Or was this a project that just started out as limited to 50 and the LE option is there if there is a significant demand.??
I realise that the movment will be one main component that diffrentiates the LE from the non-LE, but what about:
Dial markings
Hands
Case backs
etc
I just hope we get that natty little NO RAD symbol on it.! 8)
Thanks
deano
Thanks
The plan is that the non-LE will have:
a. ETA2824 instead of AS2063
and
b. Serial number instead of limited edition number.

I'm not really very technical and quite new at this to be honest, what, in a nutshell, is the diference between the two movements?Originally Posted by swanbourne

In other words the AS 2063 is more reliable and you can fix it with a sledgehammer in case you ever need to regulate it :DOriginally Posted by Bernard

Can anybody give me some info about the availability of parts for the AS mov't???
Jules Borel lists all the parts as available except the set bridge. This usually means they can find them somewhere if you need them.
Thanks for the info chaps

What type or style of strap will this watch have? Will the strap be similar to the original ones? OR, will the strap be a Rhino or NATO type?
Eddie, had you made a decision on this aspect? I hadn't seen anything, or am I just missing something... Sorry if I did...
Those rubber ones with the fake weave molded on the outside and the diamond pattern on the inside.
Does anyone even make those any more?
Squinky has them in silicone, not sure if they're still made in rubber...
It will be a rubber strap, apparently in the period style, Fricker is sending me a sample. If it's the one I've seen before, it has rectangular holes in the rubber.

Just from a practical point of view: wouldn't it be possible to get the PRS-50 with a steel bracelet?Originally Posted by swanbourne
I think that might increase the practical useability quite a bit.
I personally prefer steel bracelets when diving (with an extension, that is).

The PRS-50 has 22mm lugs.

I have a bomber jacket leather strap that I have not used for a while and then I have my handmade tabacco colour leather strap.
You can bet both will get some time on the PRS-50.
Only thing now is to get the dial and hands some vintage lume.!
Wey-hey.! :blob5:
Thanks

Hi Deano,Originally Posted by deano42

Mine will be on a mesh most likely though the one Eddie describes sounds like an Isoframe style. I can't wait.
Bingo.! Thats the one.!Originally Posted by JCJM

Just an idea, what about the LE case back having a large "50" of "fifty" engraved as well as the numbers?
Or maybe something else on there, what do people think?
I'd like it :DOriginally Posted by dowsing
As a hommage to a toolwatch, I'd like to see the prs-50 without any decoration. IMO a clean case back would be more in the spirit of the original.Originally Posted by dowsing
Eddie,
Can you confirm that the PRS-50 will have the red-tipped second hand?
That's the plan. :DOriginally Posted by Bernard

The PRS-50 looks to be a real stunner. I am looking foward to having one on my wrist. This is easily one of Eddie's best. Regards, X :evil5:
Eddie, can you post a pic of the strap?
Do you have additional information (size, weight etc.)?
And do you know anything whatsoever about the price, scheduled delivery etc.??
No.Originally Posted by Bernard

This is something which has been puzzling me for a while: how does one make such a bezel waterproof? How do (did) Omega do it (with varying degrees of success, admittedly)? The BP Bund failed miserably as every sample I've seen shows lume damage to the 12 pip.
I think the PRS-14 was done by pouring the acrylic, but I can't see how to get the top surface curve when doing it this way.
The PRS-50 looks to be a separate plastic piece back milled and filled with luminous paint. Then, I would assume, the paint is sealed in place by covering the back with epoxy, thus rendering it waterproof. The same thing done on the Benrus bezels.Originally Posted by Nalu
It can be done by careful quality control and choice of epoxy for sealing the luminous paint into the the back of the bezel insert. Don't be to hard on Blancpain, epoxy technology has come a long way since then.
