1- live and let die
2- nobody does it better
3- goldfinger
Purely because they are from my 'era' of Bond:
1. Living Daylights
2. View To A Kill
3. License to Kill
1- live and let die
2- nobody does it better
3- goldfinger
1 - Licence to kill
2 - View to a kill
3 - You only live twice
Diamonds are forever
All the time in the world
Nobody does it better
In that order.
This is a great thread, and I can't narrow it down to three either. Even after listening to a load in the car on the way home last night and on the way in this morning.
So my five in no particular order would be:
You Only Love Twice
You Know My Name (download the single version, as it is even better than the one used in the opening titles)
Nobody Does It Better
OHMSS
Live and Let Die
(But I also think The Living Daylights and View to a Kill are great...)
(I'm not very good at this.)

So clever my foot fell off.
Bit of a resurrection, but for me:
Skyfall
Diamonds are forever
Goldfinger
David
Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations
You know my name
Live and let die
Goldfinger
With honourable mentions to
Skyfall
View to a kill
For your eyes only
License to kill
Live And Let Die.
The Spy Who Loved Me.
View To A Kill.

It’s interesting how often You Know My Name is coming up - an absolute belter in my opinion too.
So clever my foot fell off.
Live and Let Die
Diamonds are Forever (considered ones of the worst films but one I really enjoy)
Skyfall

Great thread!
In no particular order,
On an all time high (Octopussy)
Nobody does it better (the spy who loved me)
Live and let die

Man with the golden Gun- Lulu
A view to a kill - Duran Duran
All time high - Rita Coolidge.
* Here's a link to Shirley Basseys rendition of "All time high"
It's good but almost feels strange like Carly Simon covering Golgfinger.

1. Live and Let Die - Wings - Not sure why anyone WOULDN'T put this first, unless they really hate Paul McCartney on a personal level, brilliant mix of tempos, lyrics and tune. Brilliant track, Bond theme or not.
2. Nobody Does It Better - Carly Simon - Another great song in its own right. I suspect my dad's liking for Carly's voice in my youth has an influence, but I can listen to this all day long.
3. You Know My Name - Chris Cornell - An outlier - I hated this is as a stand alone track and still don't rate it as such, but I thought it worked brilliantly with the titles, so it gets a podium placing on that alone, nudging out Diamonds are Forever, Gold-fffffffanger and Die Another Day (Joke! )
I'm a bit surprised about Lulu getting so many votes, if I want to listen to a woman screeching like that, I leave the toilet seat up

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
There are many very good bond themes, and a few stinkers too. However at the end of the day it's not just the song but how it's sung . . .

So many great tracks to choose from - would be far easier to list the worst three!
(Mine would be that appalling whining from Sam Smith - Writing's on the Wall, which actually makes Madonna's execrable Die Another Day almost good by comparison, and then I think I'd have to go for the most recent, an utter dirge for No Time to Die from Billy Eilish.)
So clever my foot fell off.
Great minds and all that....
It is tricky, very. Wings and Carly Simon were nailed on for me, head and shoulders above anything else by a country mile. And whilst I have never seen myself as a 'Duranny', I chose that song simply because it popped into my head before any others (the two already mentioned being exceptions of course), and it has many Bond theme orchestrations making it unmistakable. Maybe Gladys Knight's Licence to Kill comes a close 4th?

For me, it's
Live and Let Die
A View to A Kill
Casino Royale (because Chris Cornell)
Here's a playlist of all 24, if you want to remind yourself: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...FUeMSJO0DCIGPt
Wow, that's quite a thread resurrection...I've been divorced and remarried since I last posted my top three. Hasn't changed though.
1. Live And Let Die.
Great track although the more I've found out about how PM treated Wings band members, the less enthused I am.
2. View To A Kill.
Just perfect for that film.
3. Nobody Does It Better.
The intro alone conjures up Bond.
One of my favourites, Surrender, isn't actually a theme tune. I'm sure I read it was David Arnold's submission for the theme of Tomorrow Never Dies before Sheryl Crow got crow-barred in at the last moment, which is why the melody features heavily throughout the film's score.
Has anybody heard No Good About Goodbye? Written by Arnold and Don Black and sung by Shirley Bassey, apparently it was never a contender for QoS but to me it's far more fitting as a Bond theme than the actual tosh that was used, and even includes a sequence heard in the film's score.
Would have to be....
1. Goldfinger - Shirley Bassey
2. All Time High - Rita Coolidge
3. We Have All The Time In The World - Louis Armstrong
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
Not only did Goldfinger have the best tune, but also the best henchman . . .
and the most iconic image of Bond with the classiest ever car in the series . . .
. . . IMHO.
