New Audemars Piguet super ceramic- material 9 times harder than steel...........

Despite the fact the white colour is slightly (or very) off putting to many folk nothing alters the fact that from a technical point of view it's very impressive

Have to agree with this. Much as I like the idea of innovative watch materials, it looks cheap, and will date quickly IMO.

    My exact same immediate thought.

It might be technically impressive, but it looks and will feel like plastic.

Also, it might be nine times harder than steel, but ceramic cases can still be rather brittle.

So clever my foot fell off.

What kind of impact caused that case to break?

I don't like it, at all. But it is a very long time since AP did anything I have liked.

I think that there is nothing wrong with the steady development of a long standing and popular design. But that is very different from the constant search for variations on a theme.

unfortunately another failure in execution IMHO.
The new ceramic might be super tough etc. etc. But in white it looks like plastic, therefore cheap in appearance

I guess Europe is not the main market anymore, and tastes in Asia are very different from ours..............

Perhaps that's why, in our eyes, at a lot of brands it all goes pearshaped design wise.

    Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!

its clearly a fine line for watch manufacturers to try and make a high end piece with innovation without risking it look cheap!

I personally find whenever a manufacturer strays away from traditioinal, to the untrained eye they look cheap.... i.e. hulk sub, the new ceramic orange pt PO, this white "thing"

im never going to be in the market for a watch like that but i really like the look of it. it deosnt seem any louder than a yellow or orange faced diver and it certanly doesnt seem any louder than my PO orange bezel with orange gator strap.

If I recall correctly, it was dropped from a relatively low height.

Can't wait to see the pre owned prices on these. Good thing it's a Diver- because prices will sink like a stone.
