First purchase in 2014 - my new dress watch

    Hey guys,

I've been looking for a rose gold dress watch and came across this over a year ago. Procrastinated because it doesn't have any lume (hard to find dress watch with any). Tried it on my wrist yesterday afternoon and I still liked it so now it's added into my collection. It's fitted with F.Piguet movement, 3 days power reserve, a nice size of 42mm, a very tiny diamond at the centre of the dial (6 o'clock position) which is nice touch to the timepiece.

iphone pics so the resolution isn't fantastic. I think my aim to get a FP Journe or RM10 is now almost impossible to achieve after this purchase but I've learnt to be contented with what I own now.

    Thanks for looking!

    Cheers

    James

Congratulations! What a great and interesting choice. There can be very few companies showing greater dedication to pure Horology than HW. The amazing work they do with the Opus series has over time showcased some of the worlds finest watchmakers. The FP movement in that watch is fabulous and the case and dial work look beautiful. Nice to see someone making such an individual choice. Enjoy

A very striking piece. Congratulations. No surprises that Java likes it as another individual that doesn't roll with the crowd (which isn't remotely a criticism).

I would be interested to hear from you as when you would wear this. I would love something as off-piste as this in my collection but frankly I am not sure when the chance to wear such a piece would present itself with any regularity.

Stunning does look big though, bigger than 42. What's the height?
Don't see many HWs around. I think that used to have them in Marcus bond street.
    Any way thanks for sharing.

I've a small wrist and i tend to take close up pics that's why it looks bigger than 42mm. The height is 11mm.

Thanks. I tend to rotate my watches. I guess I could wear this when I go to work..it'll fit nicely in the cuffs..I would even wear this on weekends with jeans and a polo-tee. Although I consider it as a dress watch, it came with a brown strap and it kind of makes it slightly "less formal".

An interesting piece and nice to see something different. Obviously you're happy with it and that's all that matters. Having said that, the photos do suggest it is too large for your wrist.

    Chaps

It is really good to see a manufacturer investing in time and machinery to produce watches like this.

It's lovely but a touch large for a dress watch. Well done for a brave choice though.

Congratulations! Havent seen a HW in a while.
For me, a dress watch doesnt need any lumes.. why would you need to look at it in the dark when you are wearing a dress watch? Unless its Die Hard, and you are stuck in the building...

Great choice! Not the obvious selection for a dress watch, which makes if an interesting pick. Looks a touch larger than 42mm.
