Panerai Daylight chrono with blue dial... Any thoughts?

I've just spotted a NOS Panerai Daylight chrono and I don't want to like it, but I'm finding it hard to resist. The watch would be brand new and it's a rare find as it's the blue dial limited edition with the Ti case, and leather strap.

I'm guessing these are an ETA type, so how do they fair with the Paneristi?

    It's this one...

Not a Paneristi, but that is a lovely watch. What's not to like!

I have a blue dial on my limited edition PAM70 and I love the way it changes colour in different lights. The watch you are looking at is a cracker, go for it!

I do seem to be. I've even recently bought a blue car so it seems to be the colour of the moment for me :-D

I spoke to the jeweller and they're playing the "no discounts on panerai" line. The issue is, they have two... One on a bracelet which looks really nice! I didn't like the later panerai bracelets until today either so I'm surprised I liked it so much after playing with the watch for several minutes.

I'm going to have a look around for a similar watch and take it from there.

Try Iconic Watches and see if they can source one for you. They can normally offer 10% on such price models.

Personally, I like a PAM to be as simple as possible TBH, the less cluttered the better.

I have been close a few times to buying a PAM. For me the simplier the dial the better.

You need rather more than a 10% deal (from retail) to minimise potential losses on a re-sale, should that ever occur. If its a true keeper, then irrelivent or course.

Really like that. I'm a sucker for a blue dial though.

I prefer Panerais as simple as possible. The blue dial is nice though.

Of all the Panerai I do like the Daylight series although I prefer the white dial I think. With your current two Blue Omegas mate, I think you have the blue thing covered?

Thanks for the reply. Looking at used prices, steel models are going for £3500+, whereas the Ti blue model I'm looking at ranges from £5500+ on the strap. Therefore it seems to be holding its value much better?

Yeah it's true, but I've thought about chopping in the speedy towards the PAM. Hmmm, decisions lol

Is it just me or does the angled date window spoil the watch? It's something that turns me off many modern watches.

It's a 'no' from me. But only because the dial and bezel make it all a bit too 'busy' IMO.

Not for me. I prefer the traditional simplicity of a Pam.

i really like it, i find i cant really tell the difference between most panerai watches, thay are all a bit samey. that is great looking in blue. i know nothing of their resale and reputtion but i certanly think it is a looker.

You can't go wrong with a blue dialled Panerai. The dial colour couldn't be more different than that of an Omega for example. It has a wonderful deep hue to it. I'd definitely favour steel over the titanium though as they work better with the dial imho. Treat yourself!

I agree with that - the blue dial on this looks much more intriguing than an Omega blue, but I think it's too cluttered, especially with the date window. If only they had a blue Radiomir....
