Mesh strap for PRS68 - Smiths diver

    Hi all,

I am thinking of trying a new strap for my much loved PRS68 as the clasp on the bracelet protrudes a little too far on my wrist. I really like the look of mesh straps and would be interested in your opinions and also where you have gone for after market bracelets.

    Cheers
    Nathan

I was thinking of this as a possible option myself - I've come across these but personally have never used them before so don't know if they're any good http://www.market-straps.com/index.p...duct&id_lang=1

I have bought 18 mm mesh for my vintage Certina Waterking from them.
    Great service and good prices.

The wjean mesh straps are excellent, if a little fiddly to cut to length but I imagine that's the same for any strap of this nature. Wears so comfortably.

Hmm, interesting. What is involved in fitting a mesh strap, do they not come with adjustable lengths/clasps?

I have had two mesh straps from WJEAN last week. Did not want to bother with the Dremmel so bought one with links, and another which slides to adjust using the clasp. Both really satisfactory especially for the price, and I love the look on my Seiko divers.

Mine (adjustable type) was from the very well named Goodcheapman on eBay. I'd recommend him, although I've had wjean's and they're good too (possibly identical?)

I am also a fan of WJEAN's shark mesh straps. Here is a picture of my 6309 on the version with links (which I purchased before the no-link version was available):

Inspire by this thread I've just got round to putting mine on the mesh - I think I like it!

I've got a couple of Goodcheapman's mesh bracelets and they're outstanding. Highly recommended. They have a few adjustment positions on the clasp but luckily they fit my wrist pretty well without having to cut links out.

I tried searching on ebay - couldn't find him.
Do you have a link to one of his straps?

    Thanks

Hi Chris - I think this is his current incarnation. Certainly looks like the same product.

A bit of thread resurrection here.

I have ordered a Staib Mesh from Holbens Fine Watch Bands eBay store. I will post up some picks as soon as it is received and fitted

Apple's solution to this is genius.

^^ That Staib mesh looks great. I've thought about getting one of those for some watches I've owned in the past but never actually made the purchase! Looks quality - would you recommend them?

Yes I would. Very comfy and it seems to be fantastically well put together. Apart from sleeping I haven't taken it off.
I got mine from Holbens eBay store and it was a very fast service, coming from the States in about 7 days.

That looks like a step up in quality from the eBay dremel jobs that I normally get.
How do you adjust for length? Are those removal links that I see close to the deployant? And what size wrist do you have?

Yep they are removable links but the bracelet also comes in three sizes.

The actual mesh itself is flat on top (sorry don't know the technical design term) that is caught in the first picture.
