A slightly different thread and I wonder what is your favourite watch of this year, whether it is something you bought or saw? Many pieces may have come and gone but does any one stand out?
Mine has to be the Omega POC in titanium as it rejuvenates my interest in Omega.

Tag Heuer Monaco insofar as I've wanted one for a while and finally managed to get a very nice pre-owned one on a bracelet as opposed to leather.
Biggest disappointment has to be the Speedy DSOTM - got all excited and then saw the price. Which is a nonsense.

Hmm, interesting one. By rights it should be my Duometre; I sold much of my collection to get it and it's as utterly awesome as I thought it would be. I am genuinely proud to wear such a piece of horology. But I am not surprised by this, so it should have been at that money.
The surprise has been my Omega Planet Ocean chrono Ti / Liquidmetal. Bought on whim and now absolutely loved! It actually makes me feel like a hero when I wear it, it's comfy, looks great and is both nicely de-blinged and Ti and subtly different from all other POs. As above, it has made me fall in love with Omega again and I'm wearing my vintage Speedy today (after watching Gravity) last night!
A vote for the DSSD as well. Expected to keep and flip, now I really am very pleased with it. I think it's a handsome watch, wears well, it's not as big looking as people say (I am used to 45mm watches) and I find myself looking at it all the time. I really now see no future for the 16600 Se-Dweller sadly :(

IWC Ref. 5441 "Jubliläums-Portugieser" from 1993.

Orange MBII for me. Out of all the watches I have owned (still to scratch the Sub C itch) this is my favourite by a country mile.

My favourite acquisition this year has to be my Dornbluth kal 0.40. I have been searching for one for years and finally found one this year. What's more, it is even better than I had hoped.
And a THIRD vote for the POC Titanium. I've had the steel for a couple of years, and added the Ti over the summer. I'm seriously tempted to sell the steel and pick up another Ti - one for every day and one for best. I absolutely love wearing it and to me it's the perfect watch:
Got to be the ease of acquiring a full set, which I myself haven't had to put together. I'm past all that malarky...
Two really: The more obvious one is getting my Sea-Dweller, but the Strela was an unexpected highlight also.

For me it was my Stowa Flieger with personalised rotor engraving for my 20th wedding anniversary.
Missed an opportunity to get my hands on a nice Steinhart from another forum member...but the money was going on the Stowa and I've no regrets. It's simple, stylish, has bags of history and is affordable.
My other watches have not had much wrist time since...

This basic Rolex, a 2001 14060M, which represents the height of my watch buying activity and is something that I have coveted for a long time.

My Blancpain FF Aqualung for me. I bought it the same time as I bought an engagement ring for my girlfriend (now fiancé) before heading off to Paris earlier this year and for as a present to myself for my 30th. I don't wear it nearly as much as I should but its been on my wrist for last 3 days and its an amazing piece of horology to wear and use.

2013 has been my quietest year for a long time, with only one acquisition (which wasn't for spares) and so my memorable watch is the Heuer Bund:
Otherwise, the new IWC Ingenieur has got my interest and, although I haven't seen any in the flesh yet, I really want to :)

I bought this at the end of October. I'd say I've only worn a different watch twice since then; I'm really happy with it. It's the first watch I've bought that's made me even consider selling my Steinhart OVM.

Saw the preview of this model and loved those hands. Originally not intended to have one since I have two Spring Drive already but it turned out at an irresistible price.
Got it and felt it looks better in pix than wearing. Disappointed to found some minor issues with mine and it was sent back to Japan Seiko twice for fine-tuning.
Surprisingly, I've been on and off wearing this in the past quarter since its return from Japan.

I bought this watch in 2012 and rarely wore it. It is thick and archaic looking. Earlier this year I forced myself to wear it for a few days before I sold it. I have now grown to love it, cancelled my plans to sell it and I wear it a couple of times a week.
Blue dial Aqua Terra, never been a big fan of the AT before but the blue dial is superb, def on my list now.
I guess this watch will always remind me of 2013. When I acquired it, it was a stock SKX173 and I bought it for a song at a watch get together. I got it home only to find out it was losing about two minutes per day. I think the guy that sold it to me probably thought he had pulled a fast one and was happy to unload it on me for any price.
I opened it up, saw that the hairspring was out of round (no longer concentric), so I taught myself how to do a balance bridge/hairspring transplant, and swapped the dial, hands and bezel insert while I was at it. Now I have a one-of-a-kind Seiko mod that I did myself, and the best part is I have the daily rate adjusted to -2 sec/day.
Collecting watches is fun, but modifying and working on them takes the hobby to another level. So, this is my most memorable 2013 watch.
