Detectives are appealing for information after a Weeton farm was targeted by thieves who stole more than £13,700 of designer clothes and jewellery.

The burglars sneaked into the grounds of luxury £800,000 property in Back Lane sometime between 7.45pm and midnight and disabled the outside lighting.

Officers said they then used a ladder to smash an upstairs window before entering the four-bedroomed house.

Inside, thieves ransacked the rooms, turning out drawers looking for items to steal.

As well as designer clothing, some of it unavailable to buy in this country, the thieves got away with thousands of pounds of watches including three Rolex watches, one of them a stainless steel sports watch with a silver pearl face.

The 50-year-old owner of the property, said: “It has been terrible they absolutely ransacked the house.

“My son is a real watch fanatic, some of the items they have taken are very rare and unavailable in this country.

“They got away with more than £13,700 worth of items.

“This is the second time we have been targeted and the third burglary in Weeton in the last few weeks.”

Officers said they are now appealing for anyone who has information about the burglary or anyone who is offered items for sale to come forward. PC Gareth Gerrard, who is leading the investigation for Lancashire Police, said: “This was a high value burglary and we are keen to be able to reunite the owner with their property and an investigation is now under way.”

The burglary took place on October 12. Call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111.
