    Had just seen that - is there any other make/model of watch that has shown this degree to appreciation - it's better than property as an investment!

    It hasn't sold though ;)

    & yes there have been lots of other watches that have appreciated by a lot more. £500 Sea-dweller, or even a £200 Rolex Comex anyone?

    200$ Daytona has not done badly either.

    Was 049 not the one that someone polished up then it was blasted back again ?

    Both were polished - one of which I believe was returned to a brushed finish.

    That's a not dissimilar price to the one that was recently on SC, so I assume that's roughly the 'going rate'? If so they have certainly appreciated nicely...

    I owned #143 for a bit that was polished then restored.

    I'm 99% sure you sold it to me!

    It's also the same watch I offered up for sale on SC the other week. I doubt it will sell - but it may start to raise some interest for the GMT.
