Really enjoyed reading the review, especially your personal history with the watch.
Brilliant review, a pleasure to read.
really enjoyed all the Seiko history - lots of stuff I didnt know...
That is quite a piece of writing. Thanks for a good read!
I echo the comments below, great piece of writing, a joy to read.
Wow, that is a biggun Ewan! I shall enjoy reading it this evening.
Wow, after reading such gushing review, I can't find the courage to sell my PRS-68 anymore, many thanks for this! :-)
Cheers.
I'm tempted to buy one after reading that.

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Just spent an enjoyable 90 minutes reading your review. Bravo! Thanks for your time and effort.
Amazing effort, and a great read, thank you.
Really liking Seiko divers this read captures the spirit why.
Excellent how the PRS-68 is placed in line with Seiko and history.
I own a 6105 but I am very tempted with the -68.
Thank you for putting in the time and effort and for sharing it.
A massive and well-researched review. As ever.
Thank you!
Gert
Another excellent review there, Ewan, well worth the read.

Ignorance breeds Fear. Fear breeds Hatred. Hatred breeds Ignorance. Break the chain.
Great stuff, will have to spend an evening to fully digest it :)
Great review is an understatement this is simply outstanding both eloquent, informative and really pure fun.
Never mind the review of the PRS68, this is a great written account of the development of the 'everyman' series of Seiko dive watches as you describe them and in particular of the fact that the earlier incarnations of those watches, the 62MAS and 6105 were superb, high quality divers watches by any of the standards of the time. Just a couple of editorial comments, I believe, although I am no authority, that the first gen 50m Silverwave watch was released in 1961 rather than 1963 (the site here suggests that the earliest recorded serial number for the 50m model dates from April 1961 and the latest, August 1964). In the 1968-1970 section, the sentence: 'In the North American market it is interesting to note that around 1970, the 6105 (USA model number 55023) was listed at $75.00, with the blue dialled ‘Pogue’ 6139 chronograph coming in at $95.00.' appears twice either side of the 6105 specifications list.
Excellent work!

Great review, enjoyed your experiences in Malta, I was there in 1976 serving at RAF Luqa.
Outstanding review my friend.

Excellent and very enjoyable review!
WOW! Thanks for taking the time to write such a splendid review! Didn't think it was possible but I LOVE my 68 even more now! Great stuff!
Eddie better throw some commission bucks to Ewan - this watch just shot to the top of my list.
I've been back to the review three or four times and still haven't taken it all in...
Great job again Ewan, a wonderful blend of fact, observation, opinion and recollection.

As always Ewan, that is a beautifully written review and reinforces all the more pleasure I get from this superb watch! I'm very grateful for the time and effort you spent on this review.

Careful checking of bank balances BEFORE reading it, knowing how brilliant it will be!
Agree with that. It does make you want to reach out for the credit card. But since I have a SKX, I will stick to it. Thanks very much for this great piece of horological litterature !
Hi all
Thank you all for the kind comments about this review (and for your obvious patience in getting all the way through it!) - they are very much appreciated and make it all worthwhile.
Now, on to the next one.....!!
Cheers
Ewan
As others have said, a very interesting read. Thanks Ewan!
Makes me want a PRS-68 even more now...
That must have taken an age to write and the reason i joined this forum. Not a watch on my radar but it is now. Many thanks
Outstanding review, your attention to detail and obvious enthusiasm for the topic are admirable.
Like others have said, by the time I got to the end of the article the Smiths Diver had made it onto my wish list. I had thought it might wear too large for me, but your article suggests otherwise. This is one that I'd really like to see in the metal...
Hi Ewan,
Taken me a few days to get through this in any spare time I've had - What a cracking read! I didn't really know too much about the history of Seiko divers; but now have a greater appreciation for my skx007j and how it came to be.
Have also ordered Apocalypse Now on dvd as I've not seen it in a while!!
PRS-68 wasn't really on my radar but your enthusiasm is infectious - looking likely to be my first Timefactors watch!
Thanks for your effort, will be working my way through the rest of your reviews as soon as I can!
Mark
That's one thorough review. Thanks a lot for it, Ewan.
Great job indeed.
What a fantastic review. Has me looking at this watch in a whole new light
